Uh, even from like, you know, grade six, I would from like, you know, grade six, I would from like, you know, grade six, I would like to be uh I think because of like to be uh I think because of like to be uh I think because of insecurity, like the center of insecurity, like the center of insecurity, like the center of attention, like I would feel if I knew attention, like I would feel if I knew attention, like I would feel if I knew the answer at school, I'd put up my the answer at school, I'd put up my the answer at school, I'd put up my hand, I'd want to be picked, I'd want to hand, I'd want to be picked, I'd want to hand, I'd want to be picked, I'd want to be seen. And to be like seen made me be seen. And to be like seen made me be seen. And to be like seen made me feel good and made me feel more feel good and made me feel more feel good and made me feel more confident, made me feel more loved. So, confident, made me feel more loved. I got into business school and I was like, "Oh, if business school and I was like, "Oh, if business school and I was like, "Oh, if I can just be rich, like, yeah, that's I can just be rich, like, yeah, that's I can just be rich, like, yeah, that's it." And so that's always been

I didn't even know investment banking. I didn't even know investment banking. I didn't even know what that was. And you know it was just what that was. And you know it was just what that was. And you know it was just like the most competitive thing in like the most competitive thing in like the most competitive thing in university where people were like oh university where people were like oh university where people were like oh this this pays the most and this is what this this pays the most and this is what this this pays the most and this is what the smartest kids do. So I was like [ __ ] the smartest kids do. So I was like [ __ ] the smartest kids do. So I was like [ __ ] that. I'm I'm going to get one of these that. I'm I'm going to get one of these that. I'm I'm going to get one of these jobs. I never made like the tier one jobs. I never made like the tier one jobs. I never made like the tier one investment bank. I was in like a tier 2 investment bank. I was in like a tier 2 investment bank. I was in like a tier 2 three like you know and I would have three like you know and I would have three like you know and I would have like nightmares about the job interviews like nightmares about the job interviews like nightmares about the job interviews and then at the at the firm like and then at the at the firm like and then at the at the firm like somebody threw a stapler at me once and somebody threw a stapler at me once and somebody threw a stapler at me once and like you I'd sleep under my desk like like you I'd sleep under my desk like like you I'd sleep under my desk like really hardcore work environment 20 really hardcore work environment 20 really hardcore work environment 20 years ago now. Um that firm I worked at years ago now. Um that firm I worked at years ago now. Um that firm I worked at ended up going to a hedge fund and doing ended up going to a hedge fund and doing ended up going to a hedge fund and doing some investing and I was really some investing and I was really some investing and I was really interested but I just didn't wasn't interested but I just didn't wasn't interested but I just didn't wasn't motivated by the people I worked with. motivated by the people I worked with. motivated by the people I worked with. I was like, is this really at like 22. I was like, is this really at like 22. I was like, is this really for me? And the firm I worked in bloated for me? And the firm I worked in bloated for me? And the firm I worked in bloated in the credit crisis. I live in LA, so

And I I was like, okay, well, I'm going to do I'm going to do a well, I'm going to do I'm going to do a well, I'm going to do I'm going to do a startup. Like that seems easy. There's a startup. Like that seems easy. There's a startup. Like that seems easy. There's a guy Mark Zuckerberg who's my age, maybe guy Mark Zuckerberg who's my age, maybe guy Mark Zuckerberg who's my age, maybe slightly older. Facebook is exploding. slightly older. And then I like to pop a plunge awesome. And then I like to pop a plunge awesome. Most that kind of happens in therapy. Most people don't have access to therapy. It people don't have access to therapy. It people don't have access to therapy. It happens in traditional cultures like the happens in traditional cultures like the happens in traditional cultures like the sweat lodge was like exactly this kind sweat lodge was like exactly this kind sweat lodge was like exactly this kind of place. So where's the fourth [ __ ] amazing. So where's the fourth [ __ ] amazing. So where's the fourth place where that can happen that's not place where that can happen that's not place where that can happen that's not like like like religiously dogmatic and it's just kind religiously dogmatic and it's just kind religiously dogmatic and it's just kind of like a place where like you can say of like a place where like you can say of like a place where like you can say something people can see you and that something people can see you and that something people can see you and that something is something vulnerable and something is something vulnerable and something is something vulnerable and emotional and you can like kind of get emotional and you can like kind of get emotional and you can like kind of get it off your chest and be witnessed in a it off your chest and be witnessed in a it off your chest and be witnessed in a group which is like group therapy is is group which is like group therapy is is group which is like group therapy is is group therapy is often more successful group therapy is often more successful group therapy is often more successful than individual therapy but it's hard to than individual therapy but it's hard to than individual therapy but it's hard to like where do you do group therapy that like where do you do group therapy that like where do you do group therapy that feels inspiring. So that was like a lot feels inspiring. So that was like a lot feels inspiring. So that was like a lot of the inspiration behind other was like of the inspiration behind other was like of the inspiration behind other was like creating a space to process emotions in creating a space to process emotions in creating a space to process emotions in a group and so we're calling that a a group and so we're calling that a a group and so we're calling that a force space.
