00in a ridiculous effort to experience rapid weight loss and i quote body fat melting results i decided to wear a sauna suit for an entire week's worth of workouts would i experience these rapid weight loss results or would i run into some nasty side effects the following video is my one week journey of wearing a sauna suit but you gotta focus gosh [Music] it's a terrible idea oh it's already getting hot in here holy crap so two additional pieces of equipment i have to monitor what's happening to my body is this point-and-shoot thermometer right here let's see in there it's 97.2 degrees right now and this heart rate slash blood oxygen monitor right here like that my heart rate's elevated what the heck but other than that we are starting with a bang let's get this
00workout going all right although relatively cool in the basement my body felt completely warmed up while wearing the sauna suit after only about 30 seconds from here i continued to get warmer and warmer especially when moving upstairs to the garage but little did i know the grueling challenge that i would soon face ahead still good a two mile run in the beating 90 degree sun my body quickly went from warm to hot the sun's really heating this thing up it feels like 110 degrees however because i had wind blowing toward me it was just enough to continue on the sun's on my back and there's no wind it's so freaking hot
00oh oh man i'm red oh yeah oh i forgot to take my temp okay hold on let me see my armpit i think they didn't do it 98.9 oh man i'm kind of shaking a little bit heart rate's 118. ah yo get your focus tanks down below that was the first time i ever felt like i was going to throw up on a run that was literally under 10 miles when i started my run the wind was blowing towards me so even though it was like kind of pushing me back the wind was kind of cooling me down so i was getting hot and sweating a ton but i was still able to go but then i got all the way to the mile mark so i turn
00around all of a sudden no more wind just beating sun and dude i started to overheat like crazy it was like not good honestly so right when i got here i couldn't even open the garage i literally had to just rip the thing off let me tell you you don't want to have an out-of-body experience when you're wearing a sauna suit all right it's not good but with that being said guys i'm coming back to it if you're wondering this thing ended up going through the washer and dryer surprisingly totally fine so after unraveling it i decided to put it on however on day two i really felt so depleted that i decided not to work out so i just wore the sauna suit working at my computer for a few hours and other than it just keeping me relatively warm there was no big difference there it's getting hot here so take off all your clothes alright what's up guys so it is day three funny story today is actually
00my birthday i turned 32. if i'm just being honest how i'm feeling i actually feel kind of like crap today i don't know whether i'm just still kind of feeling like just wiped from day one it has been 48 hours i thought i would be feeling better but like i just yeah i feel like i feel like wiped but i'm still gonna try to run six miles it is significantly cooler out here so i'm thinking i'll be able to make it almost no problem but this thing does heat up fast interested to see how much i sweat all right nothing too but to do it let's do this someone's boat just hit the first mile starting to break a sweat starting to get hot in here but nothing i can't handle nothing like day one it's significantly cooler out here so it's definitely helping but we have five more to go well two feel particularly sweaty i see the third mile i'm sweating a lot more than i normally
00would and uh yeah it's starting to feel kind of heavy oh it's like it's cool out here but it's getting hot in yours put it down mile four i don't feel overheated though i just feel heavy i feel like i'm sweating all over that's good though that's what i wanted i can't wait to stop oh no kidding me like 110 degrees in here sweating i felt like i was going to throw up at the end oh is that whole thing soaked oh my gosh oh there's something weird on your stomach is that a leaf i freaked out like a baby oh man oh my gosh look at that get in there
00oh that's so gross looking oh i didn't know it was that bad oh my gosh ew ew you were literally dripping after this six mile run in the sauna suit i literally felt like i sweat more than i've ever sweat before my body actually felt like it looked immediately leaner upon finishing this run and as for my weigh-in even after rehydrating with some water when completely dry i was almost five pounds down from before the run on day four we decided to see how the sauna suit would affect weight training the most apparent thing was how warmed up i was able to get in a relatively short amount of time however i quickly noticed the heat
00fatigue setting in why it wasn't as great as the heat fatigue i experienced outside running in the hot weather i felt like it still caused me to cut my workout short let's do that i like soaked on this thing now it's in the basement where it's cold yeah lost a little bit of weight i mean we just lifted weights that's all we did we lost weight usually you know you wouldn't lose any weight in fact maybe you gain weight from drinking so much during the weight training but we lost some water weight all right so i'm going to shower rehydrate and um see you guys tomorrow
00all right i'm already sweating if you guys can't tell i only been on the trampoline for four minutes and 20 seconds oh my gosh all right now we're gonna hit this run up similar to the first day when the sun was beating down on me and the sauna suit all i could handle running was two miles before it felt like i was going to critically overheat we're almost there we got this but unlike day one i had this weird urge to just keep sweating i think i'm starting to get actually used to the heat but i still i'm sweating i find i'm totally drenched i'm about to do something dangerous definitely don't recommend i'm gonna go sit in my karna which is my car because i can't afford a sauna i'm turning into like one of those tanning addicted people but addicted to sweating now holy hot it's so hot in here hey look who's in here with me it's so hard 107 on the surface right here
00101.5 are you kidding all right guys might be stepping out bad idea super rat here 187 it's kind of scary holy moly
00after the short warm-up jog to this location i already felt overheated but because it was the last workout of this challenge i decided to give it everything i had the heat fatigue made each rep grueling sweat pouring from my skin and on top of this i was going to make myself finish with a two mile run on this 80 degree humid day uh the chill is almost not good it's only like 100 feet away
00it feels like you're fine right here oh it's so hot there don't worry that's not like some weird allergic reaction this is just a new sweater and uh you know what happens i've already cooled back down to 97. my heart rate is elevated though 1 30. like something i've noticed all this week is like i get going on my workout i warm up and i'm feeling good but that curb just crashes real quick you know like luna it's just like an overwhelming fatigue like it's like you want to do a push-up or a pull-up or whatever exercise it is it's just like your brain doesn't make the connection i honestly i'm probably having like a severe electrolyte shortage right now so if you haven't noticed the pattern this week we started off doing you know a workout a strength workout followed by a
00run but then the rest of the week we've either been doing just a run or just some kind of a strength workout trying to combine it again at the end of the week here like it was just um yeah it was just i feel like the workout itself was ineffective the sweat on the other hand sweat a ton i'm gonna wind this all into the conclusion you know stay tuned but yeah i feel lean looking like i am depleted like dehydrated you know what i mean cooling down here it's starting to rain i'm going to head home take a shower get some nutrients in electrolytes all right guys are you seeing this guys 183.4 don't drink too much too fast what is up homeslice so it is the final day we checked in we weighed in at 188.6 pounds so that is approximately
00five pounds down from when we started we just took our after visuals comparing them to the before visuals it does look like i am visibly leaner however my opinion when it comes to wearing a sauna suit while working out in order to lose weight is it effective yes or no my answer based on my experience from this week you know so a little bit yes and a lot of it no so wait wait a minute i look visibly leaner why is it a big no for it not being effective the huge reason is when i was doing my workouts this week while wearing the sauna suit every single workout was either cut short or just wasn't as long as a normal workout that i would normally do if i wasn't wearing the suit i ended up always getting way too hot to continue or way too hot mid-set to even continue the rep and because of that my workouts were cut
00short and i wasn't working for the same amount of time as i normally would now if my diet was kept the same because of my decrease in calorie expenditure even with the sauna suit being a little extra weight and even with the increase in heart rate to you know regulate body temperature in my opinion i don't think that would be enough calories burned off to make up for the workout that i missed by wearing the sauna suit because i was getting too hot i think i could have burned actual more calories if i wasn't wearing this on a suit and i was just doing my regular workouts now because i was sweating so much with the sauna suit it might give me the illusion that i'm losing weight but in reality if i was eating the same amount of calories this week i would actually potentially be gaining body fat while losing maybe important hydration that's my big reason for no is because i wasn't able to work
00out at the same intensity or length that i normally would be able to work out now hold on a second i do have a little yes yes it could possibly be effective and maybe it actually was affected in my case let me explain like i just said calories in versus calories out if i kept my diet the same as i normally have been then i think i possibly would have gained some kind of body fat this week even if i would have lost weight due to dehydration however by being so hot in the sauna suit it led me to actually having a decreased appetite the rest of the day i wasn't eating as many calories as i would normally consume on a weekly basis throughout this one week experiment and just because of that i feel like i actually lost a little bit of body fat now on top of that yes it looks like we are five pounds down but i am telling you i think a lot of that most of that is lost water weight from just sweating
00so profusely which in my opinion from a performance standpoint is not necessarily something that i would strive for right i want to stay hydrated as a performance athlete so in my opinion for all those reasons i just explained wearing the sauna suit while exercising for me isn't really the best choice my recommendation to anyone who was thinking about trying to wear a sauna suit to lose weight in the long term my advice would be it's not a good idea it's not going to be effective if anything it's just going to slug you down and ruin your workouts and i can see someone maybe less trained than i am or less acclimated to the heat than i am you don't buy one of these expecting to drop a ton of weight and then maybe potentially ending up with severe heat exhaustion which would be absolutely terrible so a precaution to you that i learned is even though this thing is basically just like wearing a garbage bag over your body as you're going outside if you choose to buy a sauna suit and you're wearing one and you're feeling faint stop take it off cool down
00heck if you're feeling faint working out even not wearing a sauna suit stop cool down let your heart rate come back down it's just common sense okay i've been putting the sauna suit down but maybe there is a place for this thing for instance it is currently summer and it has been pretty hot outside this last week however if it was winter and it was cold and i was potentially having trouble warming up maybe the sauna suit would then be a good idea to help get that body temperature up to help keep your body warm while exercising in the cold but there is actually another potential good thing that i experienced throughout this experiment while wearing that and that is a feeling a good feeling of just being able to just really break a sweat now i know i got to the point of definitely probably over sweating but there were some instances in there specifically just the shorter run days maybe the two mile run where i really felt like the sweat leaving my body felt like i was almost like detoxifying like it just felt like a
00good feeling however that good feeling could quickly turn over into heat exhaustion and i think that was you know the fine line between feeling really good sweating and reaching that heat exhaustion in my opinion there are a ton of negatives to the sauna suit especially in the hotter months right now did it help me lose weight only because it reduced my appetite other than that it was just water weight that's my opinion that's what i have concluded based on this experiment i hope you all enjoyed this video if you are interested check out my body weight training program bodyweight beast 2.0 only kinds fitness.com i've been getting a ton of great feedback on that program you guys are making great results out there thank you so much for your support we have hard copies as well as digital downloads available so you can get either or if you get a hard copy you will get a complimentary digital download thank you all so much for watching i hope you have a great day don't forget to subscribe i have more videos coming out peace
