Scotch, welcome to
01:00health optimization. Scotch, welcome to health optimization. Scotch, welcome to the show. the show. the show. >> Thanks, Aiden. Great to be here. >> Thanks, Aiden. Great to be here. >> Thanks, Aiden. Great to be here. >> And thank you for being here. So let's >> And thank you for being here. So let's >> And thank you for being here. So let's start with aging. Can you tell us what start with aging. Can you tell us what start with aging. Can you tell us what causes aging and what accelerates it? causes aging and what accelerates it? causes aging and what accelerates it? >> Yeah. Well, I mean the it's pretty well >> Yeah. Well, I mean the it's pretty well >> Yeah. Well, I mean the it's pretty well studied. Just because it's well studied studied. Just because it's well studied studied. Just because it's well studied doesn't mean that we fully understand. doesn't mean that we fully understand. doesn't mean that we fully understand. There's a there's a lot of work being There's a there's a lot of work being There's a there's a lot of work being done in this field. From my perspective, done in this field. From my perspective, done in this field. From my perspective, I would say it's essentially what you I would say it's essentially what you I would say it's essentially what you would guess, right? It's the battle would guess, right? It's the battle would guess, right? It's the battle between entropy and order. And as we between entropy and order. And as we between entropy and order. And as we encounter damage, uh the body is trying encounter damage, uh the body is trying encounter damage, uh the body is trying to repair that damage. And as long as to repair that damage. And as long as to repair that damage. And as long as you're getting enough sleep, you're you're getting enough sleep, you're you're getting enough sleep, you're getting the right kinds of nutrients and getting the right kinds of nutrients and getting the right kinds of nutrients and water and and all of that, you would water and and all of that, you would water and and all of that, you would think that you wouldn't age, right? U think that you wouldn't age, right? U think that you wouldn't age, right? U but but unfortunately or fortunately, we but but unfortunately or fortunately, we but but unfortunately or fortunately, we are born with a microbiome inside of us. are born with a microbiome inside of us. are born with a microbiome inside of us. And so it's not just the human cells And so it's not just the human cells And so it's not just the human cells that require nutrients and hydration and that require nutrients and hydration and that require nutrients and hydration and sunlight and all of that. The microbiome sunlight and all of that. The microbiome sunlight and all of that. The microbiome needs a lot of management. and the
02:00needs a lot of management. and the needs a lot of management. and the microbiome can get out of hand as we microbiome can get out of hand as we microbiome can get out of hand as we know right infections can occur and so know right infections can occur and so know right infections can occur and so your body produces a peptide called LL37 your body produces a peptide called LL37 your body produces a peptide called LL37 like LL cool J or let's say LL cool J like LL cool J or let's say LL cool J like LL cool J or let's say LL cool J when he was 37 years old so that's when he was 37 years old so that's when he was 37 years old so that's that's how you can kind of remember it that's how you can kind of remember it that's how you can kind of remember it right the other name for that is human right the other name for that is human right the other name for that is human cathosiden antimicrobial peptide and cathosiden antimicrobial peptide and cathosiden antimicrobial peptide and that has become sort of my favorite that has become sort of my favorite that has become sort of my favorite peptide and I I use all kinds of peptide and I I use all kinds of peptide and I I use all kinds of peptides lots of lots of different peptides lots of lots of different peptides lots of lots of different biohack hacking and stuff, but LL37, biohack hacking and stuff, but LL37, biohack hacking and stuff, but LL37, it's a it's a peptide that you can it's a it's a peptide that you can it's a it's a peptide that you can actually buy on biohacker websites and actually buy on biohacker websites and actually buy on biohacker websites and stuff. It's is a peptide that is stuff. It's is a peptide that is stuff. It's is a peptide that is naturally endogenously produced by the naturally endogenously produced by the naturally endogenously produced by the body and uh you produce it in greater body and uh you produce it in greater body and uh you produce it in greater amounts when you get plenty of vitamin amounts when you get plenty of vitamin amounts when you get plenty of vitamin D, plenty of sunlight, exercise, and the D, plenty of sunlight, exercise, and the D, plenty of sunlight, exercise, and the right nutrition. In fact, it's also right nutrition. In fact, it's also right nutrition. In fact, it's also called a heat shock protein, which it's called a heat shock protein, which it's called a heat shock protein, which it's actually produced at higher amounts. for actually produced at higher amounts. for actually produced at higher amounts. for instance like in a sauna which instance like in a sauna which instance like in a sauna which correlates to longer life and better
03:00correlates to longer life and better correlates to longer life and better health span like in the Nordic countries health span like in the Nordic countries health span like in the Nordic countries where everybody has a sauna right where everybody has a sauna right where everybody has a sauna right there's been a lot of study done there there's been a lot of study done there there's been a lot of study done there on that so back to your question like on that so back to your question like on that so back to your question like what is aging and what causes it well what is aging and what causes it well what is aging and what causes it well LL37 is a key homeostasis peptide and I LL37 is a key homeostasis peptide and I LL37 is a key homeostasis peptide and I believe it is the lynch pin in human believe it is the lynch pin in human believe it is the lynch pin in human aging or one of the lynch pins in human aging or one of the lynch pins in human aging or one of the lynch pins in human aging uh so the key there is aging is aging uh so the key there is aging is aging uh so the key there is aging is essentially the redefin definition of essentially the redefin definition of essentially the redefin definition of homeostasis homeostasis homeostasis where you would say what is normal for a where you would say what is normal for a where you would say what is normal for a 70-year-old versus what is normal for a 70-year-old versus what is normal for a 70-year-old versus what is normal for a 20-year-old. Well, that is the 20-year-old. Well, that is the 20-year-old. Well, that is the definition of homeostasis for that definition of homeostasis for that definition of homeostasis for that individual at that age, right? And so individual at that age, right? And so individual at that age, right? And so what we're saying is that in our what we're saying is that in our what we're saying is that in our culture, we believe that homeostasis at culture, we believe that homeostasis at culture, we believe that homeostasis at 70 years old means you trip more often, 70 years old means you trip more often, 70 years old means you trip more often, your bones are brittle, you have your bones are brittle, you have your bones are brittle, you have wrinkles and maybe gray hair or maybe wrinkles and maybe gray hair or maybe wrinkles and maybe gray hair or maybe thinning hair or whatever, right? So, thinning hair or whatever, right? So, thinning hair or whatever, right? So, but you wouldn't expect that in a but you wouldn't expect that in a but you wouldn't expect that in a 20-year-old, right? And in in fact, if
04:0020-year-old, right? And in in fact, if 20-year-old, right? And in in fact, if you saw that in a 20-year-old, you would you saw that in a 20-year-old, you would you saw that in a 20-year-old, you would maybe rush them to the doctor or or maybe rush them to the doctor or or maybe rush them to the doctor or or like, you know, get them to a specialist like, you know, get them to a specialist like, you know, get them to a specialist or something and you say, "There's or something and you say, "There's or something and you say, "There's something wrong with this person because something wrong with this person because something wrong with this person because they have signs of premature aging, they have signs of premature aging, they have signs of premature aging, right? There's something wrong with right? There's something wrong with right? There's something wrong with them." Right? So, if you take those two them." Right? So, if you take those two them." Right? So, if you take those two people to the doctor at the same time people to the doctor at the same time people to the doctor at the same time with identical symptoms, right? One is with identical symptoms, right? One is with identical symptoms, right? One is 70 years old and the other one is 20 70 years old and the other one is 20 70 years old and the other one is 20 years old. One will be treated as a a years old. One will be treated as a a years old. One will be treated as a a medical problem and the other one will medical problem and the other one will medical problem and the other one will be sent home be sent home be sent home simply because of their birth date. That simply because of their birth date. That simply because of their birth date. That is the only the difference the only is the only the difference the only is the only the difference the only difference between the two. They could difference between the two. They could difference between the two. They could have the same name, right? They could have the same name, right? They could have the same name, right? They could live in the same town. And so that what live in the same town. And so that what live in the same town. And so that what is what is it we're talking about? is what is it we're talking about? is what is it we're talking about? One person, right? We're saying One person, right? We're saying One person, right? We're saying chronologically it's okay that they show chronologically it's okay that they show chronologically it's okay that they show these symptoms of degradation and these symptoms of degradation and these symptoms of degradation and biological function versus the other one biological function versus the other one biological function versus the other one it's not okay and we believe that we can it's not okay and we believe that we can it's not okay and we believe that we can reverse that in the other person and we
05:00reverse that in the other person and we reverse that in the other person and we we can't right so for instance like in we can't right so for instance like in we can't right so for instance like in AIDS patients and I bring this up a lot AIDS patients and I bring this up a lot AIDS patients and I bring this up a lot in an AIDS patient you could look at a in an AIDS patient you could look at a in an AIDS patient you could look at a 20-year-old man or 20-year-old boy 20-year-old man or 20-year-old boy 20-year-old man or 20-year-old boy really at that age right um and and really at that age right um and and really at that age right um and and you'll see all of those signs you'll see all of those signs you'll see all of those signs sarcopenia, frailty, like wrinkles, all sarcopenia, frailty, like wrinkles, all sarcopenia, frailty, like wrinkles, all of the signs of aging are there in an of the signs of aging are there in an of the signs of aging are there in an AIDS picture. And in fact, there's uh AIDS picture. And in fact, there's uh AIDS picture. And in fact, there's uh there's many other disease pathologies there's many other disease pathologies there's many other disease pathologies that mimic the signs of aging perfectly. that mimic the signs of aging perfectly. that mimic the signs of aging perfectly. And and those diseases are almost And and those diseases are almost And and those diseases are almost uniformly uniformly uniformly infectious. infectious. infectious. So when I I started looking at that and So when I I started looking at that and So when I I started looking at that and I and I thought, isn't that weird that I and I thought, isn't that weird that I and I thought, isn't that weird that we don't think about the microbiome at we don't think about the microbiome at we don't think about the microbiome at all? most of the gerontologists within all? most of the gerontologists within all? most of the gerontologists within this field. So gerontology is the study this field. So gerontology is the study this field. So gerontology is the study of aging, right? And there's a there's a of aging, right? And there's a there's a of aging, right? And there's a there's a a a field of specialist gerontologists a a field of specialist gerontologists a a field of specialist gerontologists who their job is to deal with old people who their job is to deal with old people who their job is to deal with old people all the time, right? And so when the all the time, right? And so when the all the time, right? And so when the 70-year-old goes into the doctor to talk
06:0070-year-old goes into the doctor to talk 70-year-old goes into the doctor to talk to the doctor, they go talk to a to the doctor, they go talk to a to the doctor, they go talk to a gerontologist versus the 20-year-old gerontologist versus the 20-year-old gerontologist versus the 20-year-old goes in and talks to just like a general goes in and talks to just like a general goes in and talks to just like a general practitioner, an internist or whatever. practitioner, an internist or whatever. practitioner, an internist or whatever. Because the gerontologist is essentially Because the gerontologist is essentially Because the gerontologist is essentially trained to deal with a different trained to deal with a different trained to deal with a different definition of homeostasis of it's normal definition of homeostasis of it's normal definition of homeostasis of it's normal for you to have all of these otherwise for you to have all of these otherwise for you to have all of these otherwise signs of a disease. But because you're signs of a disease. But because you're signs of a disease. But because you're 70 years old, we're going to say that's 70 years old, we're going to say that's 70 years old, we're going to say that's normal and we're going to say that uh normal and we're going to say that uh normal and we're going to say that uh that we don't need to treat you for that we don't need to treat you for that we don't need to treat you for those things. we need to we're going to those things. we need to we're going to those things. we need to we're going to treat you for a bruise or something, but treat you for a bruise or something, but treat you for a bruise or something, but we're not going to treat you for we're not going to treat you for we're not going to treat you for forgetfulness or your hair is falling forgetfulness or your hair is falling forgetfulness or your hair is falling out or you know you can't walk right out or you know you can't walk right out or you know you can't walk right anymore or like all of those things anymore or like all of those things anymore or like all of those things really major losses of function. So really major losses of function. So really major losses of function. So I believe and what the data shows I believe and what the data shows I believe and what the data shows especially in the AI algorithms that especially in the AI algorithms that especially in the AI algorithms that that we're using at Maxwell Biosciences that we're using at Maxwell Biosciences that we're using at Maxwell Biosciences is that is that these degradations in is that is that these degradations in is that is that these degradations in function are fairly simply reversible function are fairly simply reversible function are fairly simply reversible and it comes from a different series of and it comes from a different series of and it comes from a different series of different innovations but the major one
07:00different innovations but the major one different innovations but the major one is a redefinition of homeostasis back to is a redefinition of homeostasis back to is a redefinition of homeostasis back to that 20-year-old definition of that 20-year-old definition of that 20-year-old definition of homeostasis. homeostasis. homeostasis. And then in order to redefine And then in order to redefine And then in order to redefine homeostasis, you have got to use the homeostasis, you have got to use the homeostasis, you have got to use the chemicals and the defining physical chemicals and the defining physical chemicals and the defining physical characteristics peptides essentially characteristics peptides essentially characteristics peptides essentially that define homeostasis biologically for that define homeostasis biologically for that define homeostasis biologically for the body. And the key homeostasis the body. And the key homeostasis the body. And the key homeostasis peptide that I have been able to find so peptide that I have been able to find so peptide that I have been able to find so far is this LL37 far is this LL37 far is this LL37 which unfortunately was named human which unfortunately was named human which unfortunately was named human cathosidon antimicrobial peptide cathosidon antimicrobial peptide cathosidon antimicrobial peptide which is just half of what it does and which is just half of what it does and which is just half of what it does and the antimicrobial nature of the peptide. the antimicrobial nature of the peptide. the antimicrobial nature of the peptide. It's effective against all microbes, by It's effective against all microbes, by It's effective against all microbes, by the way. It's effective against all the way. It's effective against all the way. It's effective against all viruses. And so, it's sort of a wonder viruses. And so, it's sort of a wonder viruses. And so, it's sort of a wonder drug when it comes to keeping the body drug when it comes to keeping the body drug when it comes to keeping the body clean and antiseptic, right? But it's clean and antiseptic, right? But it's clean and antiseptic, right? But it's also it's also highly effective and is also it's also highly effective and is also it's also highly effective and is used mainly for apoptotic cells, used mainly for apoptotic cells, used mainly for apoptotic cells, apoptosis, which is um which is apoptosis, which is um which is apoptosis, which is um which is replacing aged cells.
08:00replacing aged cells. replacing aged cells. So, basically making sure that the So, basically making sure that the So, basically making sure that the majority of your body stays young majority of your body stays young majority of your body stays young forever young, right? So if you were forever young, right? So if you were forever young, right? So if you were producing enough of this peptide producing enough of this peptide producing enough of this peptide all the time, you would definitely have all the time, you would definitely have all the time, you would definitely have an anti-aging effect. No doubt. an anti-aging effect. No doubt. an anti-aging effect. No doubt. Sugar depletes it. So sugar will Sugar depletes it. So sugar will Sugar depletes it. So sugar will actually deplete the the amount of actually deplete the the amount of actually deplete the the amount of peptide that you're producing because peptide that you're producing because peptide that you're producing because you have to indogen indogenously produce you have to indogen indogenously produce you have to indogen indogenously produce it all the time. All of your tissues it all the time. All of your tissues it all the time. All of your tissues produce it. It's not centrally produced produce it. It's not centrally produced produce it. It's not centrally produced like by the thymus or something and and like by the thymus or something and and like by the thymus or something and and distributed through the body. It's distributed through the body. It's distributed through the body. It's produced locally all throughout the produced locally all throughout the produced locally all throughout the body. So I found that really body. So I found that really body. So I found that really interesting. And then the uh the other interesting. And then the uh the other interesting. And then the uh the other piece that I found quite interesting piece that I found quite interesting piece that I found quite interesting about this peptide is that is also stem about this peptide is that is also stem about this peptide is that is also stem cell recruitment. It's key to stem cell cell recruitment. It's key to stem cell cell recruitment. It's key to stem cell recruitment. So everybody knows about recruitment. So everybody knows about recruitment. So everybody knows about stem cells and about how they keep the stem cells and about how they keep the stem cells and about how they keep the you young, right? So it's it's both you young, right? So it's it's both you young, right? So it's it's both triggering the replacement of the old triggering the replacement of the old triggering the replacement of the old cell and also attracting the stem cells cell and also attracting the stem cells cell and also attracting the stem cells to that local area. And so that's to that local area. And so that's to that local area. And so that's involved in all wound repair like um you
09:00involved in all wound repair like um you involved in all wound repair like um you know the lymphatic fluid that comes out know the lymphatic fluid that comes out know the lymphatic fluid that comes out when you're a kid you skin your knee when you're a kid you skin your knee when you're a kid you skin your knee right and when I skinned my knee right and when I skinned my knee right and when I skinned my knee especially the first few times that I especially the first few times that I especially the first few times that I skin my knee I sat down on the ground skin my knee I sat down on the ground skin my knee I sat down on the ground and I looked at it right cuz I'm like and I looked at it right cuz I'm like and I looked at it right cuz I'm like wow there's a lot of pain coming from my wow there's a lot of pain coming from my wow there's a lot of pain coming from my knee right now and so like your focus knee right now and so like your focus knee right now and so like your focus goes to that place and you see the goes to that place and you see the goes to that place and you see the little bubbles of lymphatic fluid coming little bubbles of lymphatic fluid coming little bubbles of lymphatic fluid coming out right and you're like wow what is out right and you're like wow what is out right and you're like wow what is Right. And you see that's kind of sticky Right. And you see that's kind of sticky Right. And you see that's kind of sticky and it's yellow and you can see it's and it's yellow and you can see it's and it's yellow and you can see it's forming a scab or something that is just forming a scab or something that is just forming a scab or something that is just chock full of LL37. It is just full full chock full of LL37. It is just full full chock full of LL37. It is just full full full like it's like mostly LL37 and that full like it's like mostly LL37 and that full like it's like mostly LL37 and that is what's causing that stickiness is is what's causing that stickiness is is what's causing that stickiness is LL37 has a high electrostatic LL37 has a high electrostatic LL37 has a high electrostatic uh component to it and and that the uh component to it and and that the uh component to it and and that the stickiness that you feel on your fingers stickiness that you feel on your fingers stickiness that you feel on your fingers is literally the static cling that is is literally the static cling that is is literally the static cling that is happening and that static cling is what happening and that static cling is what happening and that static cling is what is causing the clotting to happen there. is causing the clotting to happen there. is causing the clotting to happen there. and and it provides like a like a and and it provides like a like a and and it provides like a like a lattice like a matrices for the stem
10:00lattice like a matrices for the stem lattice like a matrices for the stem cells to come up into. It actually gives cells to come up into. It actually gives cells to come up into. It actually gives it a direction, right? It like a graph it a direction, right? It like a graph it a direction, right? It like a graph paper, right? It's like a it's like a paper, right? It's like a it's like a paper, right? It's like a it's like a matrices, right? And it says you got you matrices, right? And it says you got you matrices, right? And it says you got you go over here to A1 and you over here go go over here to A1 and you over here go go over here to A1 and you over here go over to D3, right? It's like it's over to D3, right? It's like it's over to D3, right? It's like it's positioning the stem cells where they positioning the stem cells where they positioning the stem cells where they need to go because it provides need to go because it provides need to go because it provides direction. So that's that's LL37 as direction. So that's that's LL37 as direction. So that's that's LL37 as well, right? So, it's it's absolutely an well, right? So, it's it's absolutely an well, right? So, it's it's absolutely an amazing like it's it's running around amazing like it's it's running around amazing like it's it's running around doing all of the things that are doing all of the things that are doing all of the things that are associated with what we think of as associated with what we think of as associated with what we think of as anti-aging, anti-aging, anti-aging, >> tissue repair, cellular repair, and then >> tissue repair, cellular repair, and then >> tissue repair, cellular repair, and then also the the microbial side. So, what do also the the microbial side. So, what do also the the microbial side. So, what do I think is aging? I think it is I think is aging? I think it is I think is aging? I think it is periodic moments where we're not periodic moments where we're not periodic moments where we're not producing enough LL37 and uh and then producing enough LL37 and uh and then producing enough LL37 and uh and then that causes essentially damage that that causes essentially damage that that causes essentially damage that we're not able to catch up on later and we're not able to catch up on later and we're not able to catch up on later and that comes from lack of sleep, that comes from lack of sleep, that comes from lack of sleep, dehydration,
11:00dehydration, dehydration, um you know, infections. you get an um you know, infections. you get an um you know, infections. you get an infection and then all the LL37 is is infection and then all the LL37 is is infection and then all the LL37 is is moving over there to fight the infection moving over there to fight the infection moving over there to fight the infection and it's not replacing the age cells and it's not replacing the age cells and it's not replacing the age cells during that time, right? And so you can during that time, right? And so you can during that time, right? And so you can see people they get sick and they look see people they get sick and they look see people they get sick and they look like they've aged like people go like, like they've aged like people go like, like they've aged like people go like, "Oh man, you're not looking good. You "Oh man, you're not looking good. You "Oh man, you're not looking good. You look like you've aged 10 years, right?" look like you've aged 10 years, right?" look like you've aged 10 years, right?" Like you've heard that before, right? Like you've heard that before, right? Like you've heard that before, right? And then that's like I mean I mean not And then that's like I mean I mean not And then that's like I mean I mean not about your personal condition, but I about your personal condition, but I about your personal condition, but I mean you've heard other people say it mean you've heard other people say it mean you've heard other people say it before, right? And so that's I really before, right? And so that's I really before, right? And so that's I really think it has a lot to do with that. Now, think it has a lot to do with that. Now, think it has a lot to do with that. Now, is that the silver bullet that cures is that the silver bullet that cures is that the silver bullet that cures everything and that's the end of aging everything and that's the end of aging everything and that's the end of aging if you produce enough LL37? No, I don't if you produce enough LL37? No, I don't if you produce enough LL37? No, I don't think so. Because I think if you produce think so. Because I think if you produce think so. Because I think if you produce the optimal amount of LL37 right now, the optimal amount of LL37 right now, the optimal amount of LL37 right now, it's not going to reverse your age. It's it's not going to reverse your age. It's it's not going to reverse your age. It's going to I it's going to slow your going to I it's going to slow your going to I it's going to slow your aging, but it's not going to reverse aging, but it's not going to reverse aging, but it's not going to reverse your age. And so, how do you reverse your age. And so, how do you reverse your age. And so, how do you reverse age, right? Well, that's a different age, right? Well, that's a different age, right? Well, that's a different question altogether. So it's a different question altogether. So it's a different question altogether. So it's a different question from what is aging versus how question from what is aging versus how question from what is aging versus how do you reverse age which I do believe is do you reverse age which I do believe is do you reverse age which I do believe is it's been done before and uh that's been
12:00it's been done before and uh that's been it's been done before and uh that's been done in mouse heteronic parabasis. >> So I have a question about the 37 >> So I have a question about the 37 peptide. If a person starts taking this peptide. If a person starts taking this peptide. If a person starts taking this peptide what are some of the effects peptide what are some of the effects peptide what are some of the effects that they can expect to experience and that they can expect to experience and that they can expect to experience and feel and see once they start taking the feel and see once they start taking the feel and see once they start taking the peptide? Well, I did it so I could tell peptide? Well, I did it so I could tell peptide? Well, I did it so I could tell you the uh the peptide if you take get you the uh the peptide if you take get you the uh the peptide if you take get too much of it. So like if you overdose too much of it. So like if you overdose too much of it. So like if you overdose on vitamin D3, right? So So I was during on vitamin D3, right? So So I was during on vitamin D3, right? So So I was during COVID, I got super paranoid and I was COVID, I got super paranoid and I was COVID, I got super paranoid and I was taking massive doses of vitamin D3 K2, taking massive doses of vitamin D3 K2, taking massive doses of vitamin D3 K2, right? And so I didn't realize that I right? And so I didn't realize that I right? And so I didn't realize that I was taking too much. I just thought, was taking too much. I just thought, was taking too much. I just thought, well, you can't have too much to have a well, you can't have too much to have a well, you can't have too much to have a good thing, right? And so I I was taking good thing, right? And so I I was taking good thing, right? And so I I was taking these big doses and I started to feel these big doses and I started to feel these big doses and I started to feel sick. I started to feel inflamed. I sick. I started to feel inflamed. I sick. I started to feel inflamed. I started to like I started to get sort of started to like I started to get sort of started to like I started to get sort of like red patches on my skin and stuff like red patches on my skin and stuff like red patches on my skin and stuff and I'm like, man, maybe I've got COVID. and I'm like, man, maybe I've got COVID. and I'm like, man, maybe I've got COVID. I need to take more vitamin D, right? I need to take more vitamin D, right? I need to take more vitamin D, right? And so I started like really feeling
13:00And so I started like really feeling And so I started like really feeling sick. And then I start, man, I I don't sick. And then I start, man, I I don't sick. And then I start, man, I I don't have the, you know, I'm everybody's have the, you know, I'm everybody's have the, you know, I'm everybody's telling me about what the symptoms of telling me about what the symptoms of telling me about what the symptoms of COVID are. I don't feel like it's those, COVID are. I don't feel like it's those, COVID are. I don't feel like it's those, but I do feel like I'm sick. So then I but I do feel like I'm sick. So then I but I do feel like I'm sick. So then I started researching and I just like, started researching and I just like, started researching and I just like, what is it possible that I'm overdosing what is it possible that I'm overdosing what is it possible that I'm overdosing on D3? And I looked it up. I was on D3? And I looked it up. I was on D3? And I looked it up. I was actually producing too much LL37. actually producing too much LL37. actually producing too much LL37. And so because this because this peptide And so because this because this peptide And so because this because this peptide was being overproduced all throughout my was being overproduced all throughout my was being overproduced all throughout my body, it was it was essentially like body, it was it was essentially like body, it was it was essentially like trying to uh trying to attack things trying to uh trying to attack things trying to uh trying to attack things that shouldn't have been attacked. So that shouldn't have been attacked. So that shouldn't have been attacked. So one of the ways that that pathogens one of the ways that that pathogens one of the ways that that pathogens attack your body is they mimic apoptotic attack your body is they mimic apoptotic attack your body is they mimic apoptotic blebs. So, an apoptoic bleb is is blebs. So, an apoptoic bleb is is blebs. So, an apoptoic bleb is is essentially like um you know if you uh essentially like um you know if you uh essentially like um you know if you uh you leave your uh yourse you leave your uh yourse you leave your uh yourse old um movies um like Coming to America old um movies um like Coming to America old um movies um like Coming to America uh where like uh where like uh where like >> my sister's favorite movie. It's funny. >> my sister's favorite movie. It's funny. >> my sister's favorite movie. It's funny. >> That's one of my f I know every line in >> That's one of my f I know every line in >> That's one of my f I know every line in this movie, right? And and so they're
14:00this movie, right? And and so they're this movie, right? And and so they're they're walking through is it Brooklyn they're walking through is it Brooklyn they're walking through is it Brooklyn or uh Queens? They're in Queens, right? or uh Queens? They're in Queens, right? or uh Queens? They're in Queens, right? And so he's they're walking through And so he's they're walking through And so he's they're walking through Queens and there's a car behind them, Queens and there's a car behind them, Queens and there's a car behind them, right? Somebody parks a car behind them. right? Somebody parks a car behind them. right? Somebody parks a car behind them. May I think it might be their car. They May I think it might be their car. They May I think it might be their car. They they bought a car or something. Remember they bought a car or something. Remember they bought a car or something. Remember what happens to their car? Like it what happens to their car? Like it what happens to their car? Like it disappears part by part. The hub caps disappears part by part. The hub caps disappears part by part. The hub caps come off, the wheels come off. Like come off, the wheels come off. Like come off, the wheels come off. Like every time they go by the car, there's every time they go by the car, there's every time they go by the car, there's less of the car there. less of the car there. less of the car there. >> Mhm. >> Mhm. >> Mhm. >> Right. And they're like, "What's >> Right. And they're like, "What's >> Right. And they're like, "What's happening to the car? It's like happening to the car? It's like happening to the car? It's like disappearing." Right. So that's what disappearing." Right. So that's what disappearing." Right. So that's what apoptosis is. Is the body comes in and apoptosis is. Is the body comes in and apoptosis is. Is the body comes in and starts taking apart a cell. So the the starts taking apart a cell. So the the starts taking apart a cell. So the the the the cell says, you know, I'm aged. the the cell says, you know, I'm aged. the the cell says, you know, I'm aged. And it it puts a marker on it. That And it it puts a marker on it. That And it it puts a marker on it. That marker happens to be called phosphatidyl marker happens to be called phosphatidyl marker happens to be called phosphatidyl serene, right? Which is essentially the serene, right? Which is essentially the serene, right? Which is essentially the body's eat me signal. And so all your body's eat me signal. And so all your body's eat me signal. And so all your age cells in your body have that marker. age cells in your body have that marker. age cells in your body have that marker. So LL37 comes along and targets that So LL37 comes along and targets that So LL37 comes along and targets that marker and and essentially starts like marker and and essentially starts like marker and and essentially starts like chopping the car up, right? It's like a chopping the car up, right? It's like a chopping the car up, right? It's like a chop a chop shop, right? It's chopping
15:00chop a chop shop, right? It's chopping chop a chop shop, right? It's chopping the car up. It's chopping the cell up, the car up. It's chopping the cell up, the car up. It's chopping the cell up, right? And so it takes it apart and it right? And so it takes it apart and it right? And so it takes it apart and it puts it into little blebs. They're puts it into little blebs. They're puts it into little blebs. They're called little tiny pieces basically. And called little tiny pieces basically. And called little tiny pieces basically. And then it offers those to all the then it offers those to all the then it offers those to all the surrounding cells as a basically recycle surrounding cells as a basically recycle surrounding cells as a basically recycle reuse. And so they just it gets offered reuse. And so they just it gets offered reuse. And so they just it gets offered to all the local cells. The local cells to all the local cells. The local cells to all the local cells. The local cells pull it in and basically eats it and pull it in and basically eats it and pull it in and basically eats it and recycles those proteins for their own recycles those proteins for their own recycles those proteins for their own good. Right? So that's the orderly good. Right? So that's the orderly good. Right? So that's the orderly process of apoptosis. And then a stem process of apoptosis. And then a stem process of apoptosis. And then a stem cell comes in to the gap where that cell cell comes in to the gap where that cell cell comes in to the gap where that cell was. a fully formed, brand new cell goes was. a fully formed, brand new cell goes was. a fully formed, brand new cell goes in where that was. That's the orderly. in where that was. That's the orderly. in where that was. That's the orderly. That's what's happening like a trillion That's what's happening like a trillion That's what's happening like a trillion times inside of your body right now. times inside of your body right now. times inside of your body right now. It's going all over the place. It's going all over the place. It's going all over the place. Everywhere in your body is going through Everywhere in your body is going through Everywhere in your body is going through that process all the time, right? Very that process all the time, right? Very that process all the time, right? Very orderly process. What pathogens do is orderly process. What pathogens do is orderly process. What pathogens do is they mimic the apoptotic blebs and they they mimic the apoptotic blebs and they they mimic the apoptotic blebs and they mark themselves with phosphotilerion. mark themselves with phosphotilerion. mark themselves with phosphotilerion. And the the same uh mechanism that your And the the same uh mechanism that your And the the same uh mechanism that your body uses to absorb the apoptoic blebs body uses to absorb the apoptoic blebs body uses to absorb the apoptoic blebs is the mechanism that the pathogens are
16:00is the mechanism that the pathogens are is the mechanism that the pathogens are uh mimicking. It's like Trojan horse uh mimicking. It's like Trojan horse uh mimicking. It's like Trojan horse attack, right? Where it says, "Look, attack, right? Where it says, "Look, attack, right? Where it says, "Look, I've got phosphatilylcerene. Let me I've got phosphatilylcerene. Let me I've got phosphatilylcerene. Let me unlock the the cell recycling bay." And unlock the the cell recycling bay." And unlock the the cell recycling bay." And then it it comes in and now all now then it it comes in and now all now then it it comes in and now all now you're now you're infected with this you're now you're infected with this you're now you're infected with this pathogen, right? And so if you if you pathogen, right? And so if you if you pathogen, right? And so if you if you have too much LL37, have too much LL37, have too much LL37, you won't be able to get the apoptotic you won't be able to get the apoptotic you won't be able to get the apoptotic blebs for recycling because the LL337 blebs for recycling because the LL337 blebs for recycling because the LL337 will be targeting the apoptotic blebs will be targeting the apoptotic blebs will be targeting the apoptotic blebs and taking them all apart, right? It'll and taking them all apart, right? It'll and taking them all apart, right? It'll be hitting the phosphatil serarine. Of be hitting the phosphatil serarine. Of be hitting the phosphatil serarine. Of course, it'll also be taking apart all course, it'll also be taking apart all course, it'll also be taking apart all of the pathogens, too. It'll be ripping of the pathogens, too. It'll be ripping of the pathogens, too. It'll be ripping all the pathogens to pieces, right? But all the pathogens to pieces, right? But all the pathogens to pieces, right? But if you if you then lower the LL37, well, if you if you then lower the LL37, well, if you if you then lower the LL37, well, then you can get infected and you can then you can get infected and you can then you can get infected and you can also recycle. And so your body is also recycle. And so your body is also recycle. And so your body is constantly managing the LO37 levels constantly managing the LO37 levels constantly managing the LO37 levels depending on in the local area, right? depending on in the local area, right? depending on in the local area, right? Depending on what that local area needs Depending on what that local area needs Depending on what that local area needs at any given time. So it's it's really at any given time. So it's it's really at any given time. So it's it's really tricky. So, this is what I said is, you
17:00tricky. So, this is what I said is, you tricky. So, this is what I said is, you know, LL37 is not the end all be all of know, LL37 is not the end all be all of know, LL37 is not the end all be all of forever young, but um but making sure forever young, but um but making sure forever young, but um but making sure that you're getting enough nutrients and that you're getting enough nutrients and that you're getting enough nutrients and exercise and vitamin D, sunlight exercise and vitamin D, sunlight exercise and vitamin D, sunlight naturally, naturally, naturally, that will definitely slow down the aging that will definitely slow down the aging that will definitely slow down the aging process. But you said like if I take a process. But you said like if I take a process. But you said like if I take a peptide, right? One of the one of the peptide, right? One of the one of the peptide, right? One of the one of the problems with taking uh LL37 is the body problems with taking uh LL37 is the body problems with taking uh LL37 is the body knows that it needs this very stable knows that it needs this very stable knows that it needs this very stable balance of it. And if you take it like balance of it. And if you take it like balance of it. And if you take it like as a shot, then the body gets rid of it as a shot, then the body gets rid of it as a shot, then the body gets rid of it super quick. Like within minutes, you super quick. Like within minutes, you super quick. Like within minutes, you know, you I don't know how much you, you know, you I don't know how much you, you know, you I don't know how much you, you know, pay for L37, but it's not cheap, know, pay for L37, but it's not cheap, know, pay for L37, but it's not cheap, right? And you inject it and within right? And you inject it and within right? And you inject it and within minutes it's gone. So it's just really minutes it's gone. So it's just really minutes it's gone. So it's just really wasted money to take it externally, wasted money to take it externally, wasted money to take it externally, right? So exogenously is what that's right? So exogenously is what that's right? So exogenously is what that's called. So endogenous production of LL37 called. So endogenous production of LL37 called. So endogenous production of LL37 is key. I actually I'm a co-inventor on is key. I actually I'm a co-inventor on is key. I actually I'm a co-inventor on a patent of it, which is basically just a patent of it, which is basically just a patent of it, which is basically just getting good nutrition and sunlight and getting good nutrition and sunlight and getting good nutrition and sunlight and um there's a bunch of supplements that
18:00um there's a bunch of supplements that um there's a bunch of supplements that work all together that um that produce work all together that um that produce work all together that um that produce more of it. Uh but um but I think LL37 more of it. Uh but um but I think LL37 more of it. Uh but um but I think LL37 is absolutely key and uh because it is absolutely key and uh because it is absolutely key and uh because it disappears so quickly. What I'm working disappears so quickly. What I'm working disappears so quickly. What I'm working on, what uh the company Maxwell on, what uh the company Maxwell on, what uh the company Maxwell Biosciences is developing is a synthetic Biosciences is developing is a synthetic Biosciences is developing is a synthetic version of it that is much more robust version of it that is much more robust version of it that is much more robust and sticks around longer. It doesn't uh and sticks around longer. It doesn't uh and sticks around longer. It doesn't uh it doesn't degrade within minutes. It it doesn't degrade within minutes. It it doesn't degrade within minutes. It takes like six hours for it to uh takes like six hours for it to uh takes like six hours for it to uh degrade. And what we've shown is it degrade. And what we've shown is it degrade. And what we've shown is it affect it's effective against every kind affect it's effective against every kind affect it's effective against every kind of microbe, every kind of pathogenic of microbe, every kind of pathogenic of microbe, every kind of pathogenic microbe and basically anything that can microbe and basically anything that can microbe and basically anything that can infect you, it's effective against and infect you, it's effective against and infect you, it's effective against and it's completely selective. It doesn't it's completely selective. It doesn't it's completely selective. It doesn't attack any healthy human cells and it attack any healthy human cells and it attack any healthy human cells and it also keeps the commensal microbiome safe also keeps the commensal microbiome safe also keeps the commensal microbiome safe as well. So, we just launched actually as well. So, we just launched actually as well. So, we just launched actually this morning this morning this morning uh a press release around entering into uh a press release around entering into uh a press release around entering into the cosmetics industry with this new the cosmetics industry with this new the cosmetics industry with this new compound because cosmetics, you know, compound because cosmetics, you know, compound because cosmetics, you know, makeup and eyeliner and all that, it makeup and eyeliner and all that, it makeup and eyeliner and all that, it gets infected cuz you, you know, put it gets infected cuz you, you know, put it gets infected cuz you, you know, put it on your face and then you put it back
19:00on your face and then you put it back on your face and then you put it back into the bin, right? And then you put it into the bin, right? And then you put it into the bin, right? And then you put it on your face again. So, you're taking on your face again. So, you're taking on your face again. So, you're taking the pathogens and the good microbiome the pathogens and the good microbiome the pathogens and the good microbiome off your skin and putting it into what off your skin and putting it into what off your skin and putting it into what turns into like a petri dish. It's a turns into like a petri dish. It's a turns into like a petri dish. It's a petri dish with makeup in it and then petri dish with makeup in it and then petri dish with makeup in it and then you end up getting infected from it. And you end up getting infected from it. And you end up getting infected from it. And so the the cosmetics industry has to put so the the cosmetics industry has to put so the the cosmetics industry has to put antiseptics in there. And right now antiseptics in there. And right now antiseptics in there. And right now those antiseptics are pretty toxic for those antiseptics are pretty toxic for those antiseptics are pretty toxic for your skin. It's not good for the your skin. It's not good for the your skin. It's not good for the microbiome of your skin. And so they're microbiome of your skin. And so they're microbiome of your skin. And so they're looking for basically what I just looking for basically what I just looking for basically what I just described, right? They're looking for described, right? They're looking for described, right? They're looking for something that doesn't kill the the good something that doesn't kill the the good something that doesn't kill the the good micro microbiome, doesn't kill the human micro microbiome, doesn't kill the human micro microbiome, doesn't kill the human cells, but kills the pathogens. And so cells, but kills the pathogens. And so cells, but kills the pathogens. And so that's what we've got. So, we're we're that's what we've got. So, we're we're that's what we've got. So, we're we're entering into the big business of the entering into the big business of the entering into the big business of the cosmetics world, livestock, um you know, cosmetics world, livestock, um you know, cosmetics world, livestock, um you know, surface sprays and coatings like you use surface sprays and coatings like you use surface sprays and coatings like you use in your kitchen or your bathroom or or in your kitchen or your bathroom or or in your kitchen or your bathroom or or whatever. So, it's not just taking it to whatever. So, it's not just taking it to whatever. So, it's not just taking it to the FDA, which we're also doing. Uh the FDA, which we're also doing. Uh the FDA, which we're also doing. Uh we're we've got several different we're we've got several different we're we've got several different molecules that mimic LL37. And uh and molecules that mimic LL37. And uh and molecules that mimic LL37. And uh and it's it's going to be everywhere pretty it's it's going to be everywhere pretty
20:00it's it's going to be everywhere pretty soon. You're literally going to be soon. You're literally going to be soon. You're literally going to be covered on it in it if you wear makeup. covered on it in it if you wear makeup. covered on it in it if you wear makeup. And uh and then your kitchen and your And uh and then your kitchen and your And uh and then your kitchen and your your sink and everything is going to be your sink and everything is going to be your sink and everything is going to be covered in it as well pretty soon. You covered in it as well pretty soon. You covered in it as well pretty soon. You know, coatings as well, like buttons on know, coatings as well, like buttons on know, coatings as well, like buttons on the elevator will be coated in it. So, the elevator will be coated in it. So, the elevator will be coated in it. So, it's going to be pretty much everywhere. it's going to be pretty much everywhere. it's going to be pretty much everywhere. We're going to make it extremely We're going to make it extremely We're going to make it extremely inexpensively. inexpensively. inexpensively. >> It's great to hear. And I'm curious >> It's great to hear. And I'm curious >> It's great to hear. And I'm curious about with L37 if it helps. I think you about with L37 if it helps. I think you about with L37 if it helps. I think you kind of talked about this a bit already, kind of talked about this a bit already, kind of talked about this a bit already, but if it helps prevent people from but if it helps prevent people from but if it helps prevent people from getting sick because before I did what I getting sick because before I did what I getting sick because before I did what I do now, um I was a teacher. I was a do now, um I was a teacher. I was a do now, um I was a teacher. I was a teacher for seven years and you know teacher for seven years and you know teacher for seven years and you know people who work in the people who work in the people who work in the >> I can see that about you actually. >> I can see that about you actually. >> I can see that about you actually. >> Thanks. >> Thanks. >> Thanks. >> You're very patient. >> You're very patient. >> You're very patient. >> Thank you. I appreciate that. I actually >> Thank you. I appreciate that. I actually >> Thank you. I appreciate that. I actually was not patient at all before I started was not patient at all before I started was not patient at all before I started teaching, but I learned very quickly teaching, but I learned very quickly teaching, but I learned very quickly within a year or two to be patient. I within a year or two to be patient. I within a year or two to be patient. I learned a lot from the kids actually. learned a lot from the kids actually. learned a lot from the kids actually. They taught me probably as much as I They taught me probably as much as I They taught me probably as much as I taught them. But um when you're taught them. But um when you're taught them. But um when you're teaching, you tend to get sick a lot
21:00teaching, you tend to get sick a lot teaching, you tend to get sick a lot like you would if you worked in a like you would if you worked in a like you would if you worked in a hospital. And some of my friends, hospital. And some of my friends, hospital. And some of my friends, they're still teachers. They're still in they're still teachers. They're still in they're still teachers. They're still in the profession. They're still getting the profession. They're still getting the profession. They're still getting sick, you know, two, three, four times a sick, you know, two, three, four times a sick, you know, two, three, four times a year. If they were to take 37 peptide, year. If they were to take 37 peptide, year. If they were to take 37 peptide, would that help protect protect them would that help protect protect them would that help protect protect them against some of these infections? against some of these infections? against some of these infections? >> So, it's not good to take LL37 as an as >> So, it's not good to take LL37 as an as >> So, it's not good to take LL37 as an as an exogenous, like an external medicine, an exogenous, like an external medicine, an exogenous, like an external medicine, right? because it can't survive the right? because it can't survive the right? because it can't survive the stomach acid for one. The only way that stomach acid for one. The only way that stomach acid for one. The only way that you'd be able to take it would be like you'd be able to take it would be like you'd be able to take it would be like uh like like a subcutaneous injection, uh like like a subcutaneous injection, uh like like a subcutaneous injection, which means like underneath the skin which means like underneath the skin which means like underneath the skin where you kind of pinch your belly fat where you kind of pinch your belly fat where you kind of pinch your belly fat and and put a little shot in there. And and and put a little shot in there. And and and put a little shot in there. And and I take peptides that way. There's and I take peptides that way. There's and I take peptides that way. There's many different types of peptides that I many different types of peptides that I many different types of peptides that I that I take and we could talk about that I take and we could talk about that I take and we could talk about later. But uh with LL37, the best way later. But uh with LL37, the best way later. But uh with LL37, the best way that you can can essentially take it, that you can can essentially take it, that you can can essentially take it, right, get more of it inside of your right, get more of it inside of your right, get more of it inside of your body is to convince the cells in all the body is to convince the cells in all the body is to convince the cells in all the areas of your body to produce more of areas of your body to produce more of areas of your body to produce more of it. And it can prevent getting sick. And
22:00it. And it can prevent getting sick. And it. And it can prevent getting sick. And so it's in produced in very high amounts so it's in produced in very high amounts so it's in produced in very high amounts in any of the surfaces of the body that in any of the surfaces of the body that in any of the surfaces of the body that contact the outside air for good reason, contact the outside air for good reason, contact the outside air for good reason, right? Because the outside air can right? Because the outside air can right? Because the outside air can infect you. can have pathogens in it, infect you. can have pathogens in it, infect you. can have pathogens in it, right? Airborne, like you know, a little right? Airborne, like you know, a little right? Airborne, like you know, a little kid comes up to you and sneezes right in kid comes up to you and sneezes right in kid comes up to you and sneezes right in your face and you're like, "Oh my god, your face and you're like, "Oh my god, your face and you're like, "Oh my god, like I hope you know I don't get sick." like I hope you know I don't get sick." like I hope you know I don't get sick." Right? Well, because you know all this Right? Well, because you know all this Right? Well, because you know all this mucus from the kid just just hit you. mucus from the kid just just hit you. mucus from the kid just just hit you. >> Now, what is the defense against mucus? >> Now, what is the defense against mucus? >> Now, what is the defense against mucus? It's actually your own mucus. So, the It's actually your own mucus. So, the It's actually your own mucus. So, the the tears your your tears Yeah, you the tears your your tears Yeah, you the tears your your tears Yeah, you could be crying if you just got sneezed could be crying if you just got sneezed could be crying if you just got sneezed on by a kid, right? Like, I don't want on by a kid, right? Like, I don't want on by a kid, right? Like, I don't want to get sick. But also like just the the to get sick. But also like just the the to get sick. But also like just the the tear ducts produce a lot of LL37. The tear ducts produce a lot of LL37. The tear ducts produce a lot of LL37. The mucus in the nose, uh the ear wax, your mucus in the nose, uh the ear wax, your mucus in the nose, uh the ear wax, your saliva has a lot of LL3 on it. So like saliva has a lot of LL3 on it. So like saliva has a lot of LL3 on it. So like if you have a dog and you get a skinned if you have a dog and you get a skinned if you have a dog and you get a skinned knee, like my example before, the first knee, like my example before, the first knee, like my example before, the first thing the dog will do is come up and thing the dog will do is come up and thing the dog will do is come up and lick your your skin knee. It's not lick your your skin knee. It's not lick your your skin knee. It's not because the dog likes the taste of a because the dog likes the taste of a because the dog likes the taste of a skin knee. It's because the, you know, skin knee. It's because the, you know, skin knee. It's because the, you know, hundreds of millions of years of
23:00hundreds of millions of years of hundreds of millions of years of evolution tells dogs to lick each other evolution tells dogs to lick each other evolution tells dogs to lick each other on the wound because the LL37 on the wound because the LL37 on the wound because the LL37 or the dog's version of it, the canine or the dog's version of it, the canine or the dog's version of it, the canine cathoscidy peptide is in the saliva in cathoscidy peptide is in the saliva in cathoscidy peptide is in the saliva in huge amounts. And so that's it's one of huge amounts. And so that's it's one of huge amounts. And so that's it's one of the ways that you can measure how much the ways that you can measure how much the ways that you can measure how much LL37 you're producing is actually just LL37 you're producing is actually just LL37 you're producing is actually just to measure the saliva. So, in a lot of to measure the saliva. So, in a lot of to measure the saliva. So, in a lot of human studies, and I've probably read human studies, and I've probably read human studies, and I've probably read just about every single one of them, just about every single one of them, just about every single one of them, where they're testing to see how much where they're testing to see how much where they're testing to see how much LL37, they test the saliva and they also LL37, they test the saliva and they also LL37, they test the saliva and they also test the uh the blood serum levels of test the uh the blood serum levels of test the uh the blood serum levels of LL37. LL37. LL37. So, how if you want advice for your So, how if you want advice for your So, how if you want advice for your fellow or former teacher friends, the fellow or former teacher friends, the fellow or former teacher friends, the best thing they could do is take plenty best thing they could do is take plenty best thing they could do is take plenty of vitamin D with K. Uh, so K2 activates of vitamin D with K. Uh, so K2 activates of vitamin D with K. Uh, so K2 activates the the vitamin D and take it with like the the vitamin D and take it with like the the vitamin D and take it with like coconut oil all at the same time. So coconut oil all at the same time. So coconut oil all at the same time. So sometimes if you get vitamin D, it sometimes if you get vitamin D, it sometimes if you get vitamin D, it doesn't come like in a like a oil doesn't come like in a like a oil doesn't come like in a like a oil container. It needs to come in an oil container. It needs to come in an oil container. It needs to come in an oil container and then take it with
24:00container and then take it with container and then take it with magnesium, calcium, and and with coconut magnesium, calcium, and and with coconut magnesium, calcium, and and with coconut oil all together. So, I actually mix it oil all together. So, I actually mix it oil all together. So, I actually mix it in coconut oil and I'll take it I'll put in coconut oil and I'll take it I'll put in coconut oil and I'll take it I'll put the supplements in the coconut oil in a the supplements in the coconut oil in a the supplements in the coconut oil in a spoon and I take the coconut oil with spoon and I take the coconut oil with spoon and I take the coconut oil with the with all of it because the fat in the with all of it because the fat in the with all of it because the fat in the coconut oil allows you to absorb all the coconut oil allows you to absorb all the coconut oil allows you to absorb all of it all together at the same time. The of it all together at the same time. The of it all together at the same time. The magnesium is really important too. So is magnesium is really important too. So is magnesium is really important too. So is folate. folate. folate. I can tell you a little bit about folate I can tell you a little bit about folate I can tell you a little bit about folate too. Folate, methylated folate is really too. Folate, methylated folate is really too. Folate, methylated folate is really important. Folic acid is not folate. important. Folic acid is not folate. important. Folic acid is not folate. Have you already uh have you already Have you already uh have you already Have you already uh have you already gone over this before in your podcast? gone over this before in your podcast? gone over this before in your podcast? >> So, >> So, >> So, >> yeah. >> yeah. >> yeah. >> Folic acid is is a synthetic way of >> Folic acid is is a synthetic way of >> Folic acid is is a synthetic way of producing a molecule that looks very producing a molecule that looks very producing a molecule that looks very similar to folate. similar to folate. similar to folate. So, your your body produces folate and So, your your body produces folate and So, your your body produces folate and and and you need it. It's in all kinds and and you need it. It's in all kinds and and you need it. It's in all kinds of different foods and things too. You of different foods and things too. You of different foods and things too. You absolutely need it. You don't have absolutely need it. You don't have absolutely need it. You don't have folate, you will die. The problem with
25:00folate, you will die. The problem with folate, you will die. The problem with folic acid which is a synthetic comes folic acid which is a synthetic comes folic acid which is a synthetic comes out of a lab only. Nothing in nature out of a lab only. Nothing in nature out of a lab only. Nothing in nature makes folic acid. It is produced in a makes folic acid. It is produced in a makes folic acid. It is produced in a totally synthetic fashion that mimics totally synthetic fashion that mimics totally synthetic fashion that mimics the fun the uh the the structure of the fun the uh the the structure of the fun the uh the the structure of folate and your your gastrointestinal folate and your your gastrointestinal folate and your your gastrointestinal system thinks that it's folate. Your system thinks that it's folate. Your system thinks that it's folate. Your gastrointestinal basically filter of gastrointestinal basically filter of gastrointestinal basically filter of like is this a good thing for me to like is this a good thing for me to like is this a good thing for me to absorb as a nutrient or not. It thinks absorb as a nutrient or not. It thinks absorb as a nutrient or not. It thinks it's folate and so it absorbs it. it's folate and so it absorbs it. it's folate and so it absorbs it. And so now it's in your bloodstream, And so now it's in your bloodstream, And so now it's in your bloodstream, right? So it goes through your right? So it goes through your right? So it goes through your gastrointestinal wall into your gastrointestinal wall into your gastrointestinal wall into your bloodstream and it's going through the bloodstream and it's going through the bloodstream and it's going through the bloodstream. And so the initial bloodstream. And so the initial bloodstream. And so the initial connectors on your cells see the folic connectors on your cells see the folic connectors on your cells see the folic acid come along and they go, "Oh, it acid come along and they go, "Oh, it acid come along and they go, "Oh, it looks like folate." And so they take it looks like folate." And so they take it looks like folate." And so they take it and they try to pull it into a cell, and they try to pull it into a cell, and they try to pull it into a cell, right? And now inside the cell where right? And now inside the cell where right? And now inside the cell where that little engineers inside of the cell that little engineers inside of the cell that little engineers inside of the cell actually have to use it, they say this actually have to use it, they say this actually have to use it, they say this is not folate. This is folic acid. is not folate. This is folic acid. is not folate. This is folic acid. Right? And so in about 47% of the
26:00Right? And so in about 47% of the Right? And so in about 47% of the population population population basically the engineers go on strike. basically the engineers go on strike. basically the engineers go on strike. They're like just like I cannot deal They're like just like I cannot deal They're like just like I cannot deal with this. Nobody's paying me to deal with this. Nobody's paying me to deal with this. Nobody's paying me to deal with this. I'm going home. Those people with this. I'm going home. Those people with this. I'm going home. Those people get super sick. 47% of the population get super sick. 47% of the population get super sick. 47% of the population will get very sick with folic acid. And will get very sick with folic acid. And will get very sick with folic acid. And yet it is in everything. It's in yet it is in everything. It's in yet it is in everything. It's in American bread. It's in uh it's on all American bread. It's in uh it's on all American bread. It's in uh it's on all kinds of things. So like the uh bread kinds of things. So like the uh bread kinds of things. So like the uh bread that says it's fortified fortified flour that says it's fortified fortified flour that says it's fortified fortified flour that is folic acid and it's they have that is folic acid and it's they have that is folic acid and it's they have been putting folic acid in American been putting folic acid in American been putting folic acid in American flour and bread for like 75 years since flour and bread for like 75 years since flour and bread for like 75 years since World War II. So somebody way back in World War II. So somebody way back in World War II. So somebody way back in world they're dead now right there. world they're dead now right there. world they're dead now right there. Nobody is alive that did that and no one Nobody is alive that did that and no one Nobody is alive that did that and no one has corrected it. It's like just this has corrected it. It's like just this has corrected it. It's like just this leftover leftover leftover ancient mistake that somebody made and ancient mistake that somebody made and ancient mistake that somebody made and people are like, "Why do you put folic people are like, "Why do you put folic people are like, "Why do you put folic acid in the bread?" Oh, we've already acid in the bread?" Oh, we've already acid in the bread?" Oh, we've already we've always done it that way. It's we've always done it that way. It's we've always done it that way. It's crazy. And that's one of the reasons why crazy. And that's one of the reasons why crazy. And that's one of the reasons why people think so many people in America people think so many people in America people think so many people in America think that they're uh gluten intolerant.
27:00think that they're uh gluten intolerant. think that they're uh gluten intolerant. It's not the gluten, it's the folic It's not the gluten, it's the folic It's not the gluten, it's the folic acid. acid. acid. >> Oh, that's interesting. I never knew >> Oh, that's interesting. I never knew >> Oh, that's interesting. I never knew that. So when we talked about LL37, you that. So when we talked about LL37, you that. So when we talked about LL37, you said it is the peptide that slows aging, said it is the peptide that slows aging, said it is the peptide that slows aging, but you said there's also a way to but you said there's also a way to but you said there's also a way to reverse aging. What's a way to reverse reverse aging. What's a way to reverse reverse aging. What's a way to reverse aging? aging? aging? >> Reversing aging is much more complex. I >> Reversing aging is much more complex. I >> Reversing aging is much more complex. I would say it's definitely what you were would say it's definitely what you were would say it's definitely what you were saying about taking a peptide. You would saying about taking a peptide. You would saying about taking a peptide. You would need to take peptides. Like you would need to take peptides. Like you would need to take peptides. Like you would need to have need to have need to have it's one thing to change the oil on your it's one thing to change the oil on your it's one thing to change the oil on your car regularly and put the right kind of car regularly and put the right kind of car regularly and put the right kind of gasoline in it and all of that. That's gasoline in it and all of that. That's gasoline in it and all of that. That's sort of like keeping your LL37 levels sort of like keeping your LL37 levels sort of like keeping your LL37 levels good, right? If you don't change your good, right? If you don't change your good, right? If you don't change your oil, your car is definitely going to die oil, your car is definitely going to die oil, your car is definitely going to die in early death, right? No doubt. Right? in early death, right? No doubt. Right? in early death, right? No doubt. Right? That's keeping LL37 at at optimal That's keeping LL37 at at optimal That's keeping LL37 at at optimal levels, right? taking your car to the levels, right? taking your car to the levels, right? taking your car to the mechanic. That's like stem cells, mechanic. That's like stem cells, mechanic. That's like stem cells, exoomes, hyperaric oxygen,
28:00exoomes, hyperaric oxygen, exoomes, hyperaric oxygen, um, um, um, uh, like infrared light, saunas, um, uh, like infrared light, saunas, um, uh, like infrared light, saunas, um, there's, uh, injection of, uh, of there's, uh, injection of, uh, of there's, uh, injection of, uh, of peptides, subcutaneous injection of peptides, subcutaneous injection of peptides, subcutaneous injection of peptides, IV drips of various different peptides, IV drips of various different peptides, IV drips of various different substances. So, there's a whole bio substances. So, there's a whole bio substances. So, there's a whole bio hacker community around this. Basically hacker community around this. Basically hacker community around this. Basically that stuff right that is how you reverse that stuff right that is how you reverse that stuff right that is how you reverse aging and there's a lot of science aging and there's a lot of science aging and there's a lot of science around that. There's also microbiome around that. There's also microbiome around that. There's also microbiome manipulation that you can do. So like manipulation that you can do. So like manipulation that you can do. So like fecal microbiota transplant have you fecal microbiota transplant have you fecal microbiota transplant have you heard of this before? heard of this before? heard of this before? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So fecal microbiota transplant is you >> So fecal microbiota transplant is you >> So fecal microbiota transplant is you know fecal means poop right? So that know fecal means poop right? So that know fecal means poop right? So that means the the microbiotaa of the large means the the microbiotaa of the large means the the microbiotaa of the large intestine. And so they can measure intestine. And so they can measure intestine. And so they can measure there's tests that they can do and they there's tests that they can do and they there's tests that they can do and they can measure your microbiome and they can can measure your microbiome and they can can measure your microbiome and they can see if it's optimal for health span. and see if it's optimal for health span. and see if it's optimal for health span. and um and there's many different ways that um and there's many different ways that um and there's many different ways that they can look at it. Now, there's it's they can look at it. Now, there's it's they can look at it. Now, there's it's called shotgun analysis. And so they'll called shotgun analysis. And so they'll called shotgun analysis. And so they'll do this broad analysis of all of the do this broad analysis of all of the do this broad analysis of all of the everything that's in your all of the
29:00everything that's in your all of the everything that's in your all of the pathogens, all of the good stuff that's pathogens, all of the good stuff that's pathogens, all of the good stuff that's in your gut. And if you have too many in your gut. And if you have too many in your gut. And if you have too many pathogens or you had an imbalance of pathogens or you had an imbalance of pathogens or you had an imbalance of even of the good stuff, it means that even of the good stuff, it means that even of the good stuff, it means that you're not going to be getting what you you're not going to be getting what you you're not going to be getting what you need in order for long-term health span need in order for long-term health span need in order for long-term health span and even for optimal energy and all and even for optimal energy and all and even for optimal energy and all kinds of things like that. This is a kinds of things like that. This is a kinds of things like that. This is a this is big in sports performance now is this is big in sports performance now is this is big in sports performance now is optimizing the microbiome because a lot optimizing the microbiome because a lot optimizing the microbiome because a lot of the energy and and also absorbing of the energy and and also absorbing of the energy and and also absorbing nutrients and stuff, right? Comes from nutrients and stuff, right? Comes from nutrients and stuff, right? Comes from the microbiome. And so one of the ways the microbiome. And so one of the ways the microbiome. And so one of the ways to do that is basically you have to do that is basically you have to do that is basically you have somebody who has kind of a perfect somebody who has kind of a perfect somebody who has kind of a perfect microbiome. And there's people that are microbiome. And there's people that are microbiome. And there's people that are just sort of that's what they do for a just sort of that's what they do for a just sort of that's what they do for a living. Like they just my job is to have living. Like they just my job is to have living. Like they just my job is to have a perfect microbiome. Like that's their a perfect microbiome. Like that's their a perfect microbiome. Like that's their job, right? and they they are now fecal job, right? and they they are now fecal job, right? and they they are now fecal microbiota transplant donors microbiota transplant donors microbiota transplant donors and u these people are treated like and u these people are treated like and u these people are treated like kings and queens and so they just are kings and queens and so they just are kings and queens and so they just are donating their microbiome and that's donating their microbiome and that's donating their microbiome and that's literally it's pretty easy for them they literally it's pretty easy for them they literally it's pretty easy for them they it's it's really just comes from poop it's it's really just comes from poop
30:00it's it's really just comes from poop right so they they poop they give a poop right so they they poop they give a poop right so they they poop they give a poop sample there's a process that the poop sample there's a process that the poop sample there's a process that the poop is cleaned basically and then they take is cleaned basically and then they take is cleaned basically and then they take the the microbiome out of that and then the the microbiome out of that and then the the microbiome out of that and then you go to a clinic and you can get a you go to a clinic and you can get a you go to a clinic and you can get a feal microbiota transplant And this has feal microbiota transplant And this has feal microbiota transplant And this has saved people's lives. It's it is cured saved people's lives. It's it is cured saved people's lives. It's it is cured diseases. It has caused all kinds of diseases. It has caused all kinds of diseases. It has caused all kinds of wonderful things to happen. Um there are wonderful things to happen. Um there are wonderful things to happen. Um there are autistic kids that get feal microbiota autistic kids that get feal microbiota autistic kids that get feal microbiota transplant and they're not autistic transplant and they're not autistic transplant and they're not autistic anymore. So there's something in the anymore. So there's something in the anymore. So there's something in the microbiome that changes that. So it's microbiome that changes that. So it's microbiome that changes that. So it's not very well understood because not very well understood because not very well understood because obviously poop microbiota is not the obviously poop microbiota is not the obviously poop microbiota is not the sexiest thing in the world for people to sexiest thing in the world for people to sexiest thing in the world for people to work on. Not very many people want to work on. Not very many people want to work on. Not very many people want to work on that. And so it's it's not super work on that. And so it's it's not super work on that. And so it's it's not super interesting. Even at the big, you know, interesting. Even at the big, you know, interesting. Even at the big, you know, the aging conferences that I go to, most the aging conferences that I go to, most the aging conferences that I go to, most people don't want to talk about it. Most people don't want to talk about it. Most people don't want to talk about it. Most people want to talk about the really people want to talk about the really people want to talk about the really sexy stuff right now is like cellular sexy stuff right now is like cellular sexy stuff right now is like cellular reprogramming and things like that where reprogramming and things like that where reprogramming and things like that where it's like genetics or crisper or things it's like genetics or crisper or things it's like genetics or crisper or things like that. That's where people go like, like that. That's where people go like, like that. That's where people go like, "Wow, I want to go, you know, find out
31:00"Wow, I want to go, you know, find out "Wow, I want to go, you know, find out how to replace the DNA in my cells. I'm how to replace the DNA in my cells. I'm how to replace the DNA in my cells. I'm sure that's going to make me better." sure that's going to make me better." sure that's going to make me better." Right? But if you do that right, that Right? But if you do that right, that Right? But if you do that right, that would be kind of the most expensive would be kind of the most expensive would be kind of the most expensive thing you could possibly do. Crisper thing you could possibly do. Crisper thing you could possibly do. Crisper therapy would be, you know, maybe a therapy would be, you know, maybe a therapy would be, you know, maybe a million dollars or something that you million dollars or something that you million dollars or something that you could do. And you might not even see any could do. And you might not even see any could do. And you might not even see any difference if you if you have a if you difference if you if you have a if you difference if you if you have a if you have a bad microbiome, you're not have a bad microbiome, you're not have a bad microbiome, you're not producing enough LL37 and you're not producing enough LL37 and you're not producing enough LL37 and you're not doing peptides or stem cells or any of doing peptides or stem cells or any of doing peptides or stem cells or any of that stuff, it might not even do that stuff, it might not even do that stuff, it might not even do anything for you. So yeah, so reversing anything for you. So yeah, so reversing anything for you. So yeah, so reversing aging I would say I would say probably aging I would say I would say probably aging I would say I would say probably stem cells and exoomes and red light stem cells and exoomes and red light stem cells and exoomes and red light therapy, infrared uh therapy and therapy, infrared uh therapy and therapy, infrared uh therapy and hyperbaric oxygen. Those are the things hyperbaric oxygen. Those are the things hyperbaric oxygen. Those are the things that I' I've seen have the the biggest that I' I've seen have the the biggest that I' I've seen have the the biggest effect. effect. effect. >> And you mentioned earlier on in the >> And you mentioned earlier on in the >> And you mentioned earlier on in the podcast that saunas also help improve podcast that saunas also help improve podcast that saunas also help improve people's lifespan. How do saunas help people's lifespan. How do saunas help people's lifespan. How do saunas help improve lifespan for people? improve lifespan for people? improve lifespan for people? >> So heat shock proteins. Uh so it's it's >> So heat shock proteins. Uh so it's it's >> So heat shock proteins. Uh so it's it's quite interesting. So shock proteins, quite interesting. So shock proteins, quite interesting. So shock proteins, LL37 is one of them, the peptide we've LL37 is one of them, the peptide we've LL37 is one of them, the peptide we've been talking about, right? And there's
32:00been talking about, right? And there's been talking about, right? And there's others. Heat shock proteins are another others. Heat shock proteins are another others. Heat shock proteins are another protein that is strangely named because protein that is strangely named because protein that is strangely named because it also they are also produced in a cold it also they are also produced in a cold it also they are also produced in a cold plunge when you go into extreme plunge when you go into extreme plunge when you go into extreme discomfort. Essentially they should be discomfort. Essentially they should be discomfort. Essentially they should be called discomfort proteins. So during called discomfort proteins. So during called discomfort proteins. So during exercise, exercise, exercise, super hot sauna, super cold water, like super hot sauna, super cold water, like super hot sauna, super cold water, like any of those scenarios where you're just any of those scenarios where you're just any of those scenarios where you're just going like, I don't like this, right? going like, I don't like this, right? going like, I don't like this, right? Basically, that signal that I don't like Basically, that signal that I don't like Basically, that signal that I don't like this feeling is your cells are this feeling is your cells are this feeling is your cells are complaining. Your cells are are your complaining. Your cells are are your complaining. Your cells are are your tissues are literally complaining to tissues are literally complaining to tissues are literally complaining to your brain and saying, "I'm under a lot your brain and saying, "I'm under a lot your brain and saying, "I'm under a lot of stress right now. I don't like it. of stress right now. I don't like it. of stress right now. I don't like it. I'm having to expend a lot of energy in I'm having to expend a lot of energy in I'm having to expend a lot of energy in order to just maintain cellular order to just maintain cellular order to just maintain cellular integrity, right? Like it is so cold integrity, right? Like it is so cold integrity, right? Like it is so cold right now that if I don't produce a lot right now that if I don't produce a lot right now that if I don't produce a lot of energy right now, I will freeze. Like of energy right now, I will freeze. Like of energy right now, I will freeze. Like I will crystallize. My cell will I will crystallize. My cell will I will crystallize. My cell will crystallize. You need to get out of here crystallize. You need to get out of here crystallize. You need to get out of here right away. Right. That's what it feels right away. Right. That's what it feels right away. Right. That's what it feels like. Have you ever done a cold plunge? like. Have you ever done a cold plunge? like. Have you ever done a cold plunge? >> No, I never would. I'm such a when it
33:00>> No, I never would. I'm such a when it >> No, I never would. I'm such a when it comes to the cold. comes to the cold. comes to the cold. >> Oh man, it is discomfort. Like it is >> Oh man, it is discomfort. Like it is >> Oh man, it is discomfort. Like it is discomfort, right? You have to just discomfort, right? You have to just discomfort, right? You have to just meditate. Like I do every time my my meditate. Like I do every time my my meditate. Like I do every time my my hands do this and I'm just like hands do this and I'm just like hands do this and I'm just like you know and I just barely make it you know and I just barely make it you know and I just barely make it through every single time. uh and I'm through every single time. uh and I'm through every single time. uh and I'm better in saunas but it is very better in saunas but it is very better in saunas but it is very discomforting right and so what's discomforting right and so what's discomforting right and so what's happening in that process is anything happening in that process is anything happening in that process is anything that is not especially if you really that is not especially if you really that is not especially if you really push it if you're if you really put push push it if you're if you really put push push it if you're if you really put push yourself into the discomfort what yourself into the discomfort what yourself into the discomfort what happens is the cells that are not happens is the cells that are not happens is the cells that are not optimal the cells that are not forever optimal the cells that are not forever optimal the cells that are not forever young the ones that are that are not young the ones that are that are not young the ones that are that are not strong die they die in that process and strong die they die in that process and strong die they die in that process and so they they go into an apoptosis so they they go into an apoptosis so they they go into an apoptosis process Right? And so because they're process Right? And so because they're process Right? And so because they're going they're having to go into this going they're having to go into this going they're having to go into this apoptosis process, your body then starts apoptosis process, your body then starts apoptosis process, your body then starts producing heat shock proteins in order producing heat shock proteins in order producing heat shock proteins in order to to get rid of those cells. to to get rid of those cells. to to get rid of those cells. Essentially lots of cells start saying I
34:00Essentially lots of cells start saying I Essentially lots of cells start saying I need to be replaced because I'm failing need to be replaced because I'm failing need to be replaced because I'm failing now because you just put me under so now because you just put me under so now because you just put me under so much pressure now I I'm quitting much pressure now I I'm quitting much pressure now I I'm quitting basically. And so then you have to have basically. And so then you have to have basically. And so then you have to have basically the the security guards come basically the the security guards come basically the the security guards come in and say, "Oh, these people are in and say, "Oh, these people are in and say, "Oh, these people are quitting. I have to escort them out the quitting. I have to escort them out the quitting. I have to escort them out the door." And that's what the heat shock door." And that's what the heat shock door." And that's what the heat shock proteins do. LL37 and there's several proteins do. LL37 and there's several proteins do. LL37 and there's several others that I'm not uh I'm not but others that I'm not uh I'm not but others that I'm not uh I'm not but essentially those go in and they're essentially those go in and they're essentially those go in and they're essentially poking those cells and essentially poking those cells and essentially poking those cells and blowing them up and blowing them into blowing them up and blowing them into blowing them up and blowing them into little apoptotic gloves and then they're little apoptotic gloves and then they're little apoptotic gloves and then they're getting recycled and and processed getting recycled and and processed getting recycled and and processed through the liver and recycled for the through the liver and recycled for the through the liver and recycled for the surrounding cells. And so those are old surrounding cells. And so those are old surrounding cells. And so those are old weak cells. Those are old weak cells weak cells. Those are old weak cells weak cells. Those are old weak cells that are being destroyed in that that are being destroyed in that that are being destroyed in that discomforting process. The problem with discomforting process. The problem with discomforting process. The problem with it is it's very not comfortable, right? it is it's very not comfortable, right? it is it's very not comfortable, right? So most people don't want to do it. So most people don't want to do it. So most people don't want to do it. >> So, so you know, one of the ways to slow >> So, so you know, one of the ways to slow >> So, so you know, one of the ways to slow down aging is to seek out discomfort. down aging is to seek out discomfort. down aging is to seek out discomfort. >> So people that are have the discipline >> So people that are have the discipline >> So people that are have the discipline to seek out discomfort to seek out discomfort to seek out discomfort tend to be healthier, right? And the
35:00tend to be healthier, right? And the tend to be healthier, right? And the people that are seeking comfort and people that are seeking comfort and people that are seeking comfort and seeking pleasure, those people tend to seeking pleasure, those people tend to seeking pleasure, those people tend to age faster. Like look at a rock star, age faster. Like look at a rock star, age faster. Like look at a rock star, right? Like they they tend to age really right? Like they they tend to age really right? Like they they tend to age really fast, right? They might be in their late fast, right? They might be in their late fast, right? They might be in their late 30s and they look like they're in their 30s and they look like they're in their 30s and they look like they're in their 70s, right? They have living fast is 70s, right? They have living fast is 70s, right? They have living fast is what we call it, right? They're not what we call it, right? They're not what we call it, right? They're not getting sleep. They're drinking lots of getting sleep. They're drinking lots of getting sleep. They're drinking lots of alcohol. They're doing all these bad alcohol. They're doing all these bad alcohol. They're doing all these bad things versus somebody who's got the things versus somebody who's got the things versus somebody who's got the discipline to seek out discomfort maybe discipline to seek out discomfort maybe discipline to seek out discomfort maybe is fasting. is fasting. is fasting. Meditation can sometimes be Meditation can sometimes be Meditation can sometimes be discomforting, right? Looking inside, discomforting, right? Looking inside, discomforting, right? Looking inside, all of those things are really good for all of those things are really good for all of those things are really good for uh for extending health span. So there's a lot of science going on So there's a lot of science going on right now in the field of longevity, but right now in the field of longevity, but right now in the field of longevity, but have there been any recorded histories have there been any recorded histories have there been any recorded histories about the science of longevity already? about the science of longevity already? about the science of longevity already? >> Yeah, that's I mean I could just go on >> Yeah, that's I mean I could just go on >> Yeah, that's I mean I could just go on and on on that. Uh so the uh the ancient and on on that. Uh so the uh the ancient and on on that. Uh so the uh the ancient vadas which are the the ancient kind of vadas which are the the ancient kind of vadas which are the the ancient kind of historical documents of India they talk
36:00historical documents of India they talk historical documents of India they talk a lot about about aging and about how to a lot about about aging and about how to a lot about about aging and about how to extend health span with a type of health extend health span with a type of health extend health span with a type of health science called Ayurveda. So Ayurveda is science called Ayurveda. So Ayurveda is science called Ayurveda. So Ayurveda is is the scripture of health basically or is the scripture of health basically or is the scripture of health basically or the book of health or the word of the book of health or the word of the book of health or the word of health. health. health. Ayur means health and va is scripture or Ayur means health and va is scripture or Ayur means health and va is scripture or word or book or or whatever how you word or book or or whatever how you word or book or or whatever how you interpret it. So Ayurvedic medicine is interpret it. So Ayurvedic medicine is interpret it. So Ayurvedic medicine is is pretty popular all over the world is pretty popular all over the world is pretty popular all over the world especially like in in the Middle East especially like in in the Middle East especially like in in the Middle East and es especially in India basically and es especially in India basically and es especially in India basically everybody does ayurveetic medicine in in everybody does ayurveetic medicine in in everybody does ayurveetic medicine in in India they also do western medicine as India they also do western medicine as India they also do western medicine as well but it's it's becoming much more well but it's it's becoming much more well but it's it's becoming much more popular in the United States especially popular in the United States especially popular in the United States especially in like California um basically where in like California um basically where in like California um basically where people do a lot of yoga people do a lot of yoga people do a lot of yoga >> anyone who does a lot of yoga they're >> anyone who does a lot of yoga they're >> anyone who does a lot of yoga they're generally hear about ayurveetic medicine generally hear about ayurveetic medicine generally hear about ayurveetic medicine and it's this ancient medicine that's and it's this ancient medicine that's and it's this ancient medicine that's thousands of years old and it uses is thousands of years old and it uses is thousands of years old and it uses is mostly like plant medicines and things mostly like plant medicines and things mostly like plant medicines and things like that. So that has been the study of like that. So that has been the study of like that. So that has been the study of health span. Uh it's not the study of health span. Uh it's not the study of health span. Uh it's not the study of disease, it's the study of health. And
37:00disease, it's the study of health. And disease, it's the study of health. And so those are essentially thousands of so those are essentially thousands of so those are essentially thousands of years of human trials that you can even years of human trials that you can even years of human trials that you can even the FDA recognizes ayurveetic medicine the FDA recognizes ayurveetic medicine the FDA recognizes ayurveetic medicine as generally recognized as safe. You as generally recognized as safe. You as generally recognized as safe. You don't have to go through human trials in don't have to go through human trials in don't have to go through human trials in order to make claims about uh about order to make claims about uh about order to make claims about uh about things that are in Ayurvedic medicine. things that are in Ayurvedic medicine. things that are in Ayurvedic medicine. And that's a that's a rare exception for And that's a that's a rare exception for And that's a that's a rare exception for the FDA. the FDA. the FDA. There are also um there are also you There are also um there are also you There are also um there are also you know western uh and uh and African uh know western uh and uh and African uh know western uh and uh and African uh traditions of traditions of traditions of um basically it's like what does the w um basically it's like what does the w um basically it's like what does the w what do the wise old women of those what do the wise old women of those what do the wise old women of those cultures and the wise old men of those cultures and the wise old men of those cultures and the wise old men of those cultures like the shaman or the medicine cultures like the shaman or the medicine cultures like the shaman or the medicine people of those cultures what do they people of those cultures what do they people of those cultures what do they say uh to to eat and how to live right say uh to to eat and how to live right say uh to to eat and how to live right and so listening to that is really and so listening to that is really and so listening to that is really important One of the things I tell important One of the things I tell important One of the things I tell people just for general health purposes people just for general health purposes people just for general health purposes is is is you either eat your culture or your you either eat your culture or your you either eat your culture or your culture eats you. culture eats you. culture eats you. So,
38:00So, So, so we like to say like, you know, you'll so we like to say like, you know, you'll so we like to say like, you know, you'll get on Instagram or something and you'll get on Instagram or something and you'll get on Instagram or something and you'll see a video and it's recommending like see a video and it's recommending like see a video and it's recommending like some diet or something that everybody some diet or something that everybody some diet or something that everybody should be on. Well, in actuality, the should be on. Well, in actuality, the should be on. Well, in actuality, the diet that you should be on is the diet diet that you should be on is the diet diet that you should be on is the diet that you should be on, right? you should that you should be on, right? you should that you should be on, right? you should be because we have different genetics, be because we have different genetics, be because we have different genetics, we have different blood types, we have we have different blood types, we have we have different blood types, we have um everything is different about us um everything is different about us um everything is different about us because your ancestors because your ancestors because your ancestors evolved in a completely different evolved in a completely different evolved in a completely different environment than mine did, right? And so environment than mine did, right? And so environment than mine did, right? And so the lessons of the lessons of the lessons of maybe millions of generations, like maybe millions of generations, like maybe millions of generations, like let's go back like a billion years, let's go back like a billion years, let's go back like a billion years, right? Go back a billion years. We're right? Go back a billion years. We're right? Go back a billion years. We're probably, you know, cousins from that, probably, you know, cousins from that, probably, you know, cousins from that, right? We're probably cousins from a right? We're probably cousins from a right? We're probably cousins from a billion years ago. But when when you billion years ago. But when when you billion years ago. But when when you come come forward and you go into like come come forward and you go into like come come forward and you go into like the millions of years, that's when you the millions of years, that's when you the millions of years, that's when you see human populations starting to see human populations starting to see human populations starting to diverge all over the world and they're diverge all over the world and they're diverge all over the world and they're adapting to different environments, adapting to different environments, adapting to different environments, right? And so and so certain cultures
39:00right? And so and so certain cultures right? And so and so certain cultures then adapted over at least hundreds of then adapted over at least hundreds of then adapted over at least hundreds of thousands of years to eat a certain type thousands of years to eat a certain type thousands of years to eat a certain type of food and to be in a certain type of of food and to be in a certain type of of food and to be in a certain type of environment, right? And so that is your environment, right? And so that is your environment, right? And so that is your culture, right? And that's why you go to culture, right? And that's why you go to culture, right? And that's why you go to your grandmother and your grandmother your grandmother and your grandmother your grandmother and your grandmother cooks a certain type of food and you cooks a certain type of food and you cooks a certain type of food and you just feel better after you eat that type just feel better after you eat that type just feel better after you eat that type of food, right? And we call it comfort of food, right? And we call it comfort of food, right? And we call it comfort food, right? Well, it's because your food, right? Well, it's because your food, right? Well, it's because your body's going like, "Yeah, this is body's going like, "Yeah, this is body's going like, "Yeah, this is exactly what I need." Right? And it's exactly what I need." Right? And it's exactly what I need." Right? And it's it's different for everybody. Everybody it's different for everybody. Everybody it's different for everybody. Everybody has their own culture, right? So, you has their own culture, right? So, you has their own culture, right? So, you also have a culture of bacteria inside also have a culture of bacteria inside also have a culture of bacteria inside your body. And uh and so we do cultures your body. And uh and so we do cultures your body. And uh and so we do cultures of bacteria, right? So there's a little of bacteria, right? So there's a little of bacteria, right? So there's a little bit of a play on words with the two bit of a play on words with the two bit of a play on words with the two cultures, right? And so that's where the cultures, right? And so that's where the cultures, right? And so that's where the you eat your culture. You eat what your you eat your culture. You eat what your you eat your culture. You eat what your grandma said to eat, right? Yes, ma'am. grandma said to eat, right? Yes, ma'am. grandma said to eat, right? Yes, ma'am. Grandma, right? Or your the culture of Grandma, right? Or your the culture of Grandma, right? Or your the culture of your bacteria inside of your body will your bacteria inside of your body will your bacteria inside of your body will actually rebel and start eating you, actually rebel and start eating you, actually rebel and start eating you, right? You'll get you'll you'll right? You'll get you'll you'll right? You'll get you'll you'll self-infect. Your your bacteria will
40:00self-infect. Your your bacteria will self-infect. Your your bacteria will actually get out of hand and you'll have actually get out of hand and you'll have actually get out of hand and you'll have belly problems. you'll have all kinds of belly problems. you'll have all kinds of belly problems. you'll have all kinds of problems because you're not eating the problems because you're not eating the problems because you're not eating the right food. Even though you're eating right food. Even though you're eating right food. Even though you're eating what appears to be healthy, what what appears to be healthy, what what appears to be healthy, what Instagram is telling you is healthy or Instagram is telling you is healthy or Instagram is telling you is healthy or whatever, right? Uh so you you got to whatever, right? Uh so you you got to whatever, right? Uh so you you got to eat your culture. Your culture will eat eat your culture. Your culture will eat eat your culture. Your culture will eat you. You can't just eat whatever you. You can't just eat whatever you. You can't just eat whatever everyone says is healthy. You got to everyone says is healthy. You got to everyone says is healthy. You got to figure out what's right for you. And the figure out what's right for you. And the figure out what's right for you. And the best way to study that, the best way to best way to study that, the best way to best way to study that, the best way to really dig into it is to is to dig into really dig into it is to is to dig into really dig into it is to is to dig into your family tree and find out where your family tree and find out where your family tree and find out where people came from and what did they eat people came from and what did they eat people came from and what did they eat in those areas and what do intelligent in those areas and what do intelligent in those areas and what do intelligent people in that area eat today and and people in that area eat today and and people in that area eat today and and find out. It's um that's I find that find out. It's um that's I find that find out. It's um that's I find that sort of the the it's almost like sort of sort of the the it's almost like sort of sort of the the it's almost like sort of health anthrop right where you're sort health anthrop right where you're sort health anthrop right where you're sort of going back in time and finding those of going back in time and finding those of going back in time and finding those things out. I find it incredibly things out. I find it incredibly things out. I find it incredibly interesting. interesting. interesting. Yeah, that was actually something I did Yeah, that was actually something I did Yeah, that was actually something I did maybe five or six years ago. I did the maybe five or six years ago. I did the maybe five or six years ago. I did the ancestry.com test just to figure out ancestry.com test just to figure out ancestry.com test just to figure out what my genealogy was because no one in
41:00what my genealogy was because no one in what my genealogy was because no one in my family really knew. And I found out my family really knew. And I found out my family really knew. And I found out I'm like, "Okay, this is interesting." I'm like, "Okay, this is interesting." I'm like, "Okay, this is interesting." And that's all I've really done with it And that's all I've really done with it And that's all I've really done with it so far. I haven't done much. So, it so far. I haven't done much. So, it so far. I haven't done much. So, it would be interesting to go and see what would be interesting to go and see what would be interesting to go and see what the people of that area actually ate the people of that area actually ate the people of that area actually ate back then and what they're eating today. back then and what they're eating today. back then and what they're eating today. So, I think I'll check that out. Thanks So, I think I'll check that out. Thanks So, I think I'll check that out. Thanks for the recommendation. for the recommendation. for the recommendation. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, looking up the Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, looking up the Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, looking up the uh like the traditional medicines from uh like the traditional medicines from uh like the traditional medicines from that area, too. That's really that area, too. That's really that area, too. That's really interesting, too. There's a there's, you interesting, too. There's a there's, you interesting, too. There's a there's, you know, I'm in biotechnology, and that's know, I'm in biotechnology, and that's know, I'm in biotechnology, and that's one of the ways that that Maxwell one of the ways that that Maxwell one of the ways that that Maxwell Biosciences innovates is by looking at Biosciences innovates is by looking at Biosciences innovates is by looking at ancient medicines like Ayurveda, but ancient medicines like Ayurveda, but ancient medicines like Ayurveda, but also many other cultures like neem. Neem also many other cultures like neem. Neem also many other cultures like neem. Neem in Africa. Have you ever heard of this in Africa. Have you ever heard of this in Africa. Have you ever heard of this before? Neem the neem plant. Highly before? Neem the neem plant. Highly before? Neem the neem plant. Highly anti-inflammatory. anti-inflammatory. anti-inflammatory. U it's a it's a also helps with pain and U it's a it's a also helps with pain and U it's a it's a also helps with pain and lots of other things. lots of other things. lots of other things. >> How do you spell it? >> How do you spell it? >> How do you spell it? >> Is it nem? >> Is it nem? >> Is it nem? >> You can get neem oil. You can get all
42:00>> You can get neem oil. You can get all >> You can get neem oil. You can get all kinds of things. But it's like I found kinds of things. But it's like I found kinds of things. But it's like I found that to be super interesting. I studied that to be super interesting. I studied that to be super interesting. I studied neem for a while and it's in neem for a while and it's in neem for a while and it's in anti-inflammatory properties. But like anti-inflammatory properties. But like anti-inflammatory properties. But like it's got molecules in it, right? It's a it's got molecules in it, right? It's a it's got molecules in it, right? It's a plant that has molecules in it. Any of plant that has molecules in it. Any of plant that has molecules in it. Any of those molecules could become a those molecules could become a those molecules could become a pharmaceutical. So there's an infinite pharmaceutical. So there's an infinite pharmaceutical. So there's an infinite number of potential pharmaceuticals out number of potential pharmaceuticals out number of potential pharmaceuticals out there where if somebody wants to start a there where if somebody wants to start a there where if somebody wants to start a startup or something that they could startup or something that they could startup or something that they could just do it. And then there's also the just do it. And then there's also the just do it. And then there's also the neutrautical path. Uh and and then also neutrautical path. Uh and and then also neutrautical path. Uh and and then also just the natural plant medicine side of just the natural plant medicine side of just the natural plant medicine side of things where you know you don't have to things where you know you don't have to things where you know you don't have to be in biotechnology like you could be in biotechnology like you could be in biotechnology like you could literally just go get make some get some literally just go get make some get some literally just go get make some get some neem make some neem oil name it Harper's neem make some neem oil name it Harper's neem make some neem oil name it Harper's neem oil and you've got a product. So neem oil and you've got a product. So neem oil and you've got a product. So >> nice. That's also another thing that I >> nice. That's also another thing that I >> nice. That's also another thing that I want to talk to you about is want to talk to you about is want to talk to you about is inflammation. A lot of the people that inflammation. A lot of the people that inflammation. A lot of the people that I've had on the show have said that I've had on the show have said that I've had on the show have said that inflammation is a key aspect of aging. inflammation is a key aspect of aging. inflammation is a key aspect of aging. It's the main thing that accelerates it. It's the main thing that accelerates it. It's the main thing that accelerates it. Have you found the same thing to be true Have you found the same thing to be true Have you found the same thing to be true and what can be done to counteract and what can be done to counteract and what can be done to counteract inflammation? inflammation? inflammation? >> Yeah. Uh so so inflammation is basically
43:00>> Yeah. Uh so so inflammation is basically >> Yeah. Uh so so inflammation is basically your body is saying there's something your body is saying there's something your body is saying there's something wrong and if you have systemic wrong and if you have systemic wrong and if you have systemic inflammation it feels like depression or inflammation it feels like depression or inflammation it feels like depression or anxiety. So the depression means your anxiety. So the depression means your anxiety. So the depression means your body is saying there's something wrong, body is saying there's something wrong, body is saying there's something wrong, lay down and go to sleep. And then lay down and go to sleep. And then lay down and go to sleep. And then anxiety means there's something wrong, anxiety means there's something wrong, anxiety means there's something wrong, look around for it. Like try to find look around for it. Like try to find look around for it. Like try to find where is it? Where is it? Right? Be where is it? Where is it? Right? Be where is it? Where is it? Right? Be hyper alert. And so hyper alert. And so hyper alert. And so usually today in today's day and age, usually today in today's day and age, usually today in today's day and age, anxiety is not going to help you at all. anxiety is not going to help you at all. anxiety is not going to help you at all. It's it's just a self-defeating thing. It's it's just a self-defeating thing. It's it's just a self-defeating thing. It's not going to help you at all. Um It's not going to help you at all. Um It's not going to help you at all. Um because there isn't like you know you're because there isn't like you know you're because there isn't like you know you're not going to look down and see that not going to look down and see that not going to look down and see that there's a snake with its teeth embedded there's a snake with its teeth embedded there's a snake with its teeth embedded in you or something right like that's in you or something right like that's in you or something right like that's not that's not going to be what happens. not that's not going to be what happens. not that's not going to be what happens. It's probably you got It's probably you got It's probably you got some uh folic acid in your bread or like some uh folic acid in your bread or like some uh folic acid in your bread or like you got you know something invisible. you got you know something invisible. you got you know something invisible. It's you're not going to be able to you It's you're not going to be able to you It's you're not going to be able to you know see it. So so generally know see it. So so generally know see it. So so generally not always but generally not always but generally not always but generally fighting inflammation or reducing fighting inflammation or reducing fighting inflammation or reducing inflammation is is best for you. and
44:00inflammation is is best for you. and inflammation is is best for you. and then you just take it easy and and and then you just take it easy and and and then you just take it easy and and and see what you can do uh around it. So for see what you can do uh around it. So for see what you can do uh around it. So for me and I get inflamed sometimes. The me and I get inflamed sometimes. The me and I get inflamed sometimes. The reason I got into biotechnology is I reason I got into biotechnology is I reason I got into biotechnology is I have a pretty delicate biology. My whole have a pretty delicate biology. My whole have a pretty delicate biology. My whole family does. I'm just sensitive to a lot family does. I'm just sensitive to a lot family does. I'm just sensitive to a lot of different things uh spiritually, of different things uh spiritually, of different things uh spiritually, energetically. I I get overwhelmed by energetically. I I get overwhelmed by energetically. I I get overwhelmed by too much noise. Um but then also with too much noise. Um but then also with too much noise. Um but then also with food, right? I'm very sensitive to food, right? I'm very sensitive to food, right? I'm very sensitive to different types of food, which is why I different types of food, which is why I different types of food, which is why I ate bread for so long. And I felt so bad ate bread for so long. And I felt so bad ate bread for so long. And I felt so bad after bread for so long until I found after bread for so long until I found after bread for so long until I found found out about folic acid. And I'm found out about folic acid. And I'm found out about folic acid. And I'm like, "Oh my god, they've been poisoning like, "Oh my god, they've been poisoning like, "Oh my god, they've been poisoning me this whole time because I also did 23 me this whole time because I also did 23 me this whole time because I also did 23 and me." And I saw I'm homozygous, which and me." And I saw I'm homozygous, which and me." And I saw I'm homozygous, which means I have both copies of a gene, means I have both copies of a gene, means I have both copies of a gene, which makes it difficult for me to which makes it difficult for me to which makes it difficult for me to methylate a food. And so I'm not getting methylate a food. And so I'm not getting methylate a food. And so I'm not getting enough folate anyway. You have to enough folate anyway. You have to enough folate anyway. You have to methylate folate. And then what did I methylate folate. And then what did I methylate folate. And then what did I do? I went and took folic acid as a do? I went and took folic acid as a do? I went and took folic acid as a supplement cuz I saw the 23 and me data. supplement cuz I saw the 23 and me data. supplement cuz I saw the 23 and me data. I'm like, "Oh, I need more folate." So,
45:00I'm like, "Oh, I need more folate." So, I'm like, "Oh, I need more folate." So, I took folic acid and I got so sick. My I took folic acid and I got so sick. My I took folic acid and I got so sick. My god, it just made me the sickest ever. god, it just made me the sickest ever. god, it just made me the sickest ever. Depression, anxiety, inflammation, like Depression, anxiety, inflammation, like Depression, anxiety, inflammation, like really really messed me up. That's how I really really messed me up. That's how I really really messed me up. That's how I found out about all this what I told you found out about all this what I told you found out about all this what I told you about folic acid. So, so I had my share about folic acid. So, so I had my share about folic acid. So, so I had my share of inflammation. The thing that helps me of inflammation. The thing that helps me of inflammation. The thing that helps me the most is really easy to do. It's the most is really easy to do. It's the most is really easy to do. It's literally just fasting. Like just literally just fasting. Like just literally just fasting. Like just fasting and making sure that I'm not fasting and making sure that I'm not fasting and making sure that I'm not getting anything, no poisons. So I'm I'm getting anything, no poisons. So I'm I'm getting anything, no poisons. So I'm I'm allowing my liver to just process out allowing my liver to just process out allowing my liver to just process out everything that's inside of me. And I'm everything that's inside of me. And I'm everything that's inside of me. And I'm drinking filtered water that doesn't drinking filtered water that doesn't drinking filtered water that doesn't have chlorine in it. So no chlorine, no have chlorine in it. So no chlorine, no have chlorine in it. So no chlorine, no fluoride, like as close to just natural fluoride, like as close to just natural fluoride, like as close to just natural pure water as I possibly can. And I'm pure water as I possibly can. And I'm pure water as I possibly can. And I'm just trying to flush I'm just trying to just trying to flush I'm just trying to just trying to flush I'm just trying to flush the body. Just flush everything flush the body. Just flush everything flush the body. Just flush everything out because usually what I find is that out because usually what I find is that out because usually what I find is that depression and anxiety are because of depression and anxiety are because of depression and anxiety are because of something I ate almost always. I something I ate almost always. I something I ate almost always. I actually have a really high tolerance actually have a really high tolerance actually have a really high tolerance for stress, for pain. Like I can I can
46:00for stress, for pain. Like I can I can for stress, for pain. Like I can I can work out to the max every single day. I work out to the max every single day. I work out to the max every single day. I can deal with business stress, but I can deal with business stress, but I can deal with business stress, but I can't deal with with toxic food. And so can't deal with with toxic food. And so can't deal with with toxic food. And so just fasting, flushing the body. And the just fasting, flushing the body. And the just fasting, flushing the body. And the other way to flush the body is with other way to flush the body is with other way to flush the body is with breath. So, so really deep inhalation, breath. So, so really deep inhalation, breath. So, so really deep inhalation, holding it uh for five seconds, really holding it uh for five seconds, really holding it uh for five seconds, really uh really full fully expressing all the uh really full fully expressing all the uh really full fully expressing all the carbon dioxide. And when you're carbon dioxide. And when you're carbon dioxide. And when you're expressing the that carbon dioxide, expressing the that carbon dioxide, expressing the that carbon dioxide, there's more than carbon dioxide that's there's more than carbon dioxide that's there's more than carbon dioxide that's coming out. It's it's a detoxing coming out. It's it's a detoxing coming out. It's it's a detoxing process. So, it's not just carbon process. So, it's not just carbon process. So, it's not just carbon dioxide. That's the toxin that you're dioxide. That's the toxin that you're dioxide. That's the toxin that you're getting rid of. There's all kinds of getting rid of. There's all kinds of getting rid of. There's all kinds of things in that breath. Out breath, things in that breath. Out breath, things in that breath. Out breath, especially when you go deep, hold, and especially when you go deep, hold, and especially when you go deep, hold, and then release. That's a that's a way to then release. That's a that's a way to then release. That's a that's a way to detox. And so you can actually take a detox. And so you can actually take a detox. And so you can actually take a lot of the strain off of your liver by lot of the strain off of your liver by lot of the strain off of your liver by doing that. Also working out enough to doing that. Also working out enough to doing that. Also working out enough to get a to start sweating. So that also get a to start sweating. So that also get a to start sweating. So that also you filter you end up filtering your you filter you end up filtering your you filter you end up filtering your blood that that way by sweating. So so
47:00blood that that way by sweating. So so blood that that way by sweating. So so sweating, breathing exercise, deep sweating, breathing exercise, deep sweating, breathing exercise, deep breathing exercises and fasting and breathing exercises and fasting and breathing exercises and fasting and flushing uh are the ways to get rid of flushing uh are the ways to get rid of flushing uh are the ways to get rid of depression and anxiety, inflammation. depression and anxiety, inflammation. depression and anxiety, inflammation. The problem is you can't you can only The problem is you can't you can only The problem is you can't you can only fast for so long, right? So you need to fast for so long, right? So you need to fast for so long, right? So you need to make sure that that what you're eating make sure that that what you're eating make sure that that what you're eating and what you're drinking are really and what you're drinking are really and what you're drinking are really clean things. And the way to go about clean things. And the way to go about clean things. And the way to go about that would be an elimination diet. So that would be an elimination diet. So that would be an elimination diet. So where you just say I'm going to I'm where you just say I'm going to I'm where you just say I'm going to I'm going to only eat rice, right? And and going to only eat rice, right? And and going to only eat rice, right? And and or I'm only going to eat potatoes or or I'm only going to eat potatoes or or I'm only going to eat potatoes or something. And if you feel sick from something. And if you feel sick from something. And if you feel sick from potatoes, well then maybe it's the potatoes, well then maybe it's the potatoes, well then maybe it's the potatoes that are making you sick or potatoes that are making you sick or potatoes that are making you sick or maybe it's the rice that's making you maybe it's the rice that's making you maybe it's the rice that's making you sick. So, the way I fixed it for myself sick. So, the way I fixed it for myself sick. So, the way I fixed it for myself is I went 100% carnivore, which is very is I went 100% carnivore, which is very is I went 100% carnivore, which is very difficult to do. I don't know if you've difficult to do. I don't know if you've difficult to do. I don't know if you've done that before. It's very, very hard done that before. It's very, very hard done that before. It's very, very hard to do. When you're bacteria and your to do. When you're bacteria and your to do. When you're bacteria and your metabolism likes cookies, likes metabolism likes cookies, likes metabolism likes cookies, likes chocolate. Like, you don't get any chocolate. Like, you don't get any chocolate. Like, you don't get any chocolate. You don't get any of that. chocolate. You don't get any of that. chocolate. You don't get any of that. >> Yeah. People like, I love meat. I would >> Yeah. People like, I love meat. I would >> Yeah. People like, I love meat. I would love to be a carnivore. I'm like, oh love to be a carnivore. I'm like, oh love to be a carnivore. I'm like, oh man, you have no idea. It is hard. It is man, you have no idea. It is hard. It is man, you have no idea. It is hard. It is really, really hard. And so I got really
48:00really, really hard. And so I got really really, really hard. And so I got really sick for a while and uh I just said, sick for a while and uh I just said, sick for a while and uh I just said, "Okay, you know, I've tried many "Okay, you know, I've tried many "Okay, you know, I've tried many different things. I've tried, you know, different things. I've tried, you know, different things. I've tried, you know, just potatoes. I've tried just rice. Now just potatoes. I've tried just rice. Now just potatoes. I've tried just rice. Now I'm going to just try beef." So I went I'm going to just try beef." So I went I'm going to just try beef." So I went to just a 100% hamburger diet, not even to just a 100% hamburger diet, not even to just a 100% hamburger diet, not even just steak. Like only hamburger because just steak. Like only hamburger because just steak. Like only hamburger because it has connective tissue in it. Steak it has connective tissue in it. Steak it has connective tissue in it. Steak doesn't have a lot of connective tissue. doesn't have a lot of connective tissue. doesn't have a lot of connective tissue. And so I have um I have a little bit of And so I have um I have a little bit of And so I have um I have a little bit of connective tissue issu is issue that connective tissue issu is issue that connective tissue issu is issue that goes along with the methylation issue. goes along with the methylation issue. goes along with the methylation issue. And so I just started eating a hamburger And so I just started eating a hamburger And so I just started eating a hamburger and man, I felt great. All my sicknesses and man, I felt great. All my sicknesses and man, I felt great. All my sicknesses just went away. All my weaknesses went just went away. All my weaknesses went just went away. All my weaknesses went away. I felt so good. I got super away. I felt so good. I got super away. I felt so good. I got super ripped. I got so much energy. I started ripped. I got so much energy. I started ripped. I got so much energy. I started working out every day. Uh and so I'm working out every day. Uh and so I'm working out every day. Uh and so I'm mostly carnivore now. I eat um you know, mostly carnivore now. I eat um you know, mostly carnivore now. I eat um you know, I have some vegetables and stuff. I I have some vegetables and stuff. I I have some vegetables and stuff. I almost never have any sugar. I don't almost never have any sugar. I don't almost never have any sugar. I don't drink alcohol. And so I live a really drink alcohol. And so I live a really drink alcohol. And so I live a really really healthy life from a from a really healthy life from a from a really healthy life from a from a lifestyle perspective. So, but that's lifestyle perspective. So, but that's lifestyle perspective. So, but that's again that's just for me that carnivore again that's just for me that carnivore again that's just for me that carnivore lifestyle and you can kind of tell from
49:00lifestyle and you can kind of tell from lifestyle and you can kind of tell from your body what you need too. So like your body what you need too. So like your body what you need too. So like like I have pointy teeth like a wolf, like I have pointy teeth like a wolf, like I have pointy teeth like a wolf, right? Like a carnivore. Some people right? Like a carnivore. Some people right? Like a carnivore. Some people have really flat teeth, right? Some have really flat teeth, right? Some have really flat teeth, right? Some people have really flat teeth which is people have really flat teeth which is people have really flat teeth which is for grinding vegetables, right? And so for grinding vegetables, right? And so for grinding vegetables, right? And so your your body will kind of tell you your your body will kind of tell you your your body will kind of tell you what it is you're supposed to eat, what it is you're supposed to eat, what it is you're supposed to eat, right? So that's why I went carnivore is right? So that's why I went carnivore is right? So that's why I went carnivore is I could not figure out what was wrong I could not figure out what was wrong I could not figure out what was wrong with me and I'm like I have really with me and I'm like I have really with me and I'm like I have really pointy teeth. Maybe I'm not eating pointy teeth. Maybe I'm not eating pointy teeth. Maybe I'm not eating enough meat. Right. enough meat. Right. enough meat. Right. >> Another thing I want to talk to you >> Another thing I want to talk to you >> Another thing I want to talk to you about is your compound called Clare. Can about is your compound called Clare. Can about is your compound called Clare. Can you tell us what it is? you tell us what it is? you tell us what it is? >> Yeah. So, clar family of compounds >> Yeah. So, clar family of compounds >> Yeah. So, clar family of compounds uh and and they're called compounds uh and and they're called compounds uh and and they're called compounds because uh we're taking some of them to because uh we're taking some of them to because uh we're taking some of them to the FDA and it's only after the FDA the FDA and it's only after the FDA the FDA and it's only after the FDA approves them uh that they're called a approves them uh that they're called a approves them uh that they're called a drug. Uh but we're developing them to be drug. Uh but we're developing them to be drug. Uh but we're developing them to be drugs. Uh drugs. Uh drugs. Uh we're uh developing them to tackle just
50:00we're uh developing them to tackle just we're uh developing them to tackle just about any kind of bacteria uh and about any kind of bacteria uh and about any kind of bacteria uh and fungus. That's our that's our first uh fungus. That's our that's our first uh fungus. That's our that's our first uh target. But what the military is target. But what the military is target. But what the military is showing, what our labs, our lab showing, what our labs, our lab showing, what our labs, our lab partners, many universities, government partners, many universities, government partners, many universities, government of India, government of Australia, what of India, government of Australia, what of India, government of Australia, what they're all showing is that these they're all showing is that these they're all showing is that these compounds are universally universally compounds are universally universally compounds are universally universally applicable against pathogenic bacteria applicable against pathogenic bacteria applicable against pathogenic bacteria and fungi, which is really exciting and fungi, which is really exciting and fungi, which is really exciting because antibiotics are dying. So because antibiotics are dying. So because antibiotics are dying. So antibiotics are not effective the way antibiotics are not effective the way antibiotics are not effective the way they used to be and people are starting they used to be and people are starting they used to be and people are starting to die um in a a pretty serious number to die um in a a pretty serious number to die um in a a pretty serious number of people are dying just from antibiotic of people are dying just from antibiotic of people are dying just from antibiotic resistance. So bacteria that used to be resistance. So bacteria that used to be resistance. So bacteria that used to be treatable with antibiotics are no longer treatable with antibiotics are no longer treatable with antibiotics are no longer treatable by antibiotics. And the luck treatable by antibiotics. And the luck treatable by antibiotics. And the luck of the draw some people are you know of the draw some people are you know of the draw some people are you know getting the short end of the stick there getting the short end of the stick there getting the short end of the stick there and then they go in and the doctor says and then they go in and the doctor says and then they go in and the doctor says there's nothing we can do. this bacteria there's nothing we can do. this bacteria there's nothing we can do. this bacteria is totally resistant to anything that is totally resistant to anything that is totally resistant to anything that we've got. And so, you know, we're going we've got. And so, you know, we're going we've got. And so, you know, we're going to keep you hydrated and hopefully to keep you hydrated and hopefully to keep you hydrated and hopefully you'll, you know, survive. So, um, a lot you'll, you know, survive. So, um, a lot you'll, you know, survive. So, um, a lot of those people don't survive. So, we're
51:00of those people don't survive. So, we're of those people don't survive. So, we're making a compound developing a drug that making a compound developing a drug that making a compound developing a drug that could potentially solve that problem. could potentially solve that problem. could potentially solve that problem. There's a lot of unmet, uh, medical There's a lot of unmet, uh, medical There's a lot of unmet, uh, medical needs within that field. Uh, many needs within that field. Uh, many needs within that field. Uh, many billions of dollars worth of unmet billions of dollars worth of unmet billions of dollars worth of unmet medical needs. So, there's a lot of medical needs. So, there's a lot of medical needs. So, there's a lot of money to be made there and there's a lot money to be made there and there's a lot money to be made there and there's a lot of lives to be saved. Our goal is to of lives to be saved. Our goal is to of lives to be saved. Our goal is to make the medicine as as affordable as make the medicine as as affordable as make the medicine as as affordable as possible. And so the the mission of the possible. And so the the mission of the possible. And so the the mission of the company is to create health for the company is to create health for the company is to create health for the world safely and affordably. >> How do you envision this medicine being >> How do you envision this medicine being taken? It's to be taken when you get sick or It's to be taken when you get sick or It's to be taken when you get sick or potentially when somebody in your family potentially when somebody in your family potentially when somebody in your family is sick and you feel like you might get is sick and you feel like you might get is sick and you feel like you might get it. The FDA would have to rule on that, it. The FDA would have to rule on that, it. The FDA would have to rule on that, but uh but that could be potentially uh but uh but that could be potentially uh but uh but that could be potentially uh something that the medicine could be something that the medicine could be something that the medicine could be taken for as well. taken for as well. taken for as well. >> And do you see it being able to help >> And do you see it being able to help >> And do you see it being able to help with chronic conditions as well?
52:00with chronic conditions as well? with chronic conditions as well? >> Absolutely. A lot of chronic conditions, >> Absolutely. A lot of chronic conditions, >> Absolutely. A lot of chronic conditions, especially autoimmune conditions, are especially autoimmune conditions, are especially autoimmune conditions, are due to underlying infections. There's a due to underlying infections. There's a due to underlying infections. There's a lot of studies on that. Uh and so uh and lot of studies on that. Uh and so uh and lot of studies on that. Uh and so uh and so taking care of the uh the so taking care of the uh the so taking care of the uh the semi-permanent chronic infections that semi-permanent chronic infections that semi-permanent chronic infections that are inside of all of us can do nothing are inside of all of us can do nothing are inside of all of us can do nothing but help. So that's there's a lot of but help. So that's there's a lot of but help. So that's there's a lot of potential there for chronic diseases. potential there for chronic diseases. potential there for chronic diseases. >> One thing that I saw on your website >> One thing that I saw on your website >> One thing that I saw on your website when I research clar is chronic when I research clar is chronic when I research clar is chronic sinocitis. Can you tell us about what sinocitis. Can you tell us about what sinocitis. Can you tell us about what that is and why so many people in the US that is and why so many people in the US that is and why so many people in the US have it? have it? have it? >> Yeah. Uh so chronic sinusitis is uh is >> Yeah. Uh so chronic sinusitis is uh is >> Yeah. Uh so chronic sinusitis is uh is antibiotic resistant by definition. So antibiotic resistant by definition. So antibiotic resistant by definition. So sinusitis uh is it is like an an sinusitis uh is it is like an an sinusitis uh is it is like an an irritation of the lining of the sinuses. irritation of the lining of the sinuses. irritation of the lining of the sinuses. And we've all had it, right? It it can And we've all had it, right? It it can And we've all had it, right? It it can be allergic. It can be uh you know a be allergic. It can be uh you know a be allergic. It can be uh you know a bacterial, viral, fungal infection, any bacterial, viral, fungal infection, any bacterial, viral, fungal infection, any of those things. And so acute sinusitis of those things. And so acute sinusitis of those things. And so acute sinusitis is when you've got it and you know like
53:00is when you've got it and you know like is when you've got it and you know like a week later it's gone. Chronic a week later it's gone. Chronic a week later it's gone. Chronic sinusitis, it doesn't go away. It just sinusitis, it doesn't go away. It just sinusitis, it doesn't go away. It just stays there. I used to have it. I know a stays there. I used to have it. I know a stays there. I used to have it. I know a lot of people that have had it where lot of people that have had it where lot of people that have had it where they're just they're constantly battling they're just they're constantly battling they're just they're constantly battling with sinus pain. They're getting, you with sinus pain. They're getting, you with sinus pain. They're getting, you know, migraines from it. Um they're know, migraines from it. Um they're know, migraines from it. Um they're getting eye pressure and pain from it. getting eye pressure and pain from it. getting eye pressure and pain from it. Sometimes they're like some cognitive Sometimes they're like some cognitive Sometimes they're like some cognitive impairment. So people call it brain fog impairment. So people call it brain fog impairment. So people call it brain fog or memory loss or like you're just not or memory loss or like you're just not or memory loss or like you're just not at your best. You're having a really bad at your best. You're having a really bad at your best. You're having a really bad day because you've got this problem, day because you've got this problem, day because you've got this problem, right? And most people get it only right? And most people get it only right? And most people get it only acutely where they only have it for a acutely where they only have it for a acutely where they only have it for a short amount of time. Now, there's an short amount of time. Now, there's an short amount of time. Now, there's an unfortunately high number of people that unfortunately high number of people that unfortunately high number of people that basically just have it all the time. So, basically just have it all the time. So, basically just have it all the time. So, their their best is when it's not so their their best is when it's not so their their best is when it's not so bad, right? And there's some days where bad, right? And there's some days where bad, right? And there's some days where they're just they can barely talk. They they're just they can barely talk. They they're just they can barely talk. They can barely think. They're having a can barely think. They're having a can barely think. They're having a really they're in a grouchy mood cuz really they're in a grouchy mood cuz really they're in a grouchy mood cuz they're basically just like this, right? they're basically just like this, right? they're basically just like this, right? They're just like, "Oh, my face, my They're just like, "Oh, my face, my They're just like, "Oh, my face, my nose, my sinuses. They're just having a nose, my sinuses. They're just having a nose, my sinuses. They're just having a really hard time." And so, they go to really hard time." And so, they go to really hard time." And so, they go to the doctor for that. And of course,
54:00the doctor for that. And of course, the doctor for that. And of course, they've already been to the doctor. many they've already been to the doctor. many they've already been to the doctor. many many times for it because they've had it many times for it because they've had it many times for it because they've had it for a long time and they've had every for a long time and they've had every for a long time and they've had every kind of antibiotic and maybe they take kind of antibiotic and maybe they take kind of antibiotic and maybe they take the antibiotic or maybe they skip a the antibiotic or maybe they skip a the antibiotic or maybe they skip a couple of doses or something and so now couple of doses or something and so now couple of doses or something and so now the bacteria that they've been fighting the bacteria that they've been fighting the bacteria that they've been fighting is now resistant to it and so they go is now resistant to it and so they go is now resistant to it and so they go back into the doctor and they're like back into the doctor and they're like back into the doctor and they're like I've got it again and he gives them the I've got it again and he gives them the I've got it again and he gives them the same antibiotic it doesn't work at all same antibiotic it doesn't work at all same antibiotic it doesn't work at all and so then they go back in they try and so then they go back in they try and so then they go back in they try another antibiotic and for some whatever another antibiotic and for some whatever another antibiotic and for some whatever reason there's this group of people that reason there's this group of people that reason there's this group of people that after a while they've tried all the after a while they've tried all the after a while they've tried all the antibiotics and it doesn't work. That's antibiotics and it doesn't work. That's antibiotics and it doesn't work. That's chronic sinusitis. That's chron. So, so chronic sinusitis. That's chron. So, so chronic sinusitis. That's chron. So, so for those people, they're just in a for those people, they're just in a for those people, they're just in a world of hurt. Their their lives are are world of hurt. Their their lives are are world of hurt. Their their lives are are pain for a long long time. And the only pain for a long long time. And the only pain for a long long time. And the only solution right now, there's there's solution right now, there's there's solution right now, there's there's basically two things the doctor can do. basically two things the doctor can do. basically two things the doctor can do. They can prescribe anti-inflammatories They can prescribe anti-inflammatories They can prescribe anti-inflammatories and painkillers, right? And you can get and painkillers, right? And you can get and painkillers, right? And you can get addicted to painkillers. And the addicted to painkillers. And the addicted to painkillers. And the anti-inflammatories suppress the immune anti-inflammatories suppress the immune anti-inflammatories suppress the immune system, which actually accelerates the system, which actually accelerates the system, which actually accelerates the infection inside, right? which is not
55:00infection inside, right? which is not infection inside, right? which is not good for you at all, but it sometimes is good for you at all, but it sometimes is good for you at all, but it sometimes is just the only thing that you can do just the only thing that you can do just the only thing that you can do because it just hurts so bad. The other because it just hurts so bad. The other because it just hurts so bad. The other option is a surgery. It's called option is a surgery. It's called option is a surgery. It's called debridement surgery, which is a horror debridement surgery, which is a horror debridement surgery, which is a horror show. It's uh it's literally the show. It's uh it's literally the show. It's uh it's literally the scraping. They scrape out the inside of scraping. They scrape out the inside of scraping. They scrape out the inside of the sinuses. It's brutal and about the sinuses. It's brutal and about the sinuses. It's brutal and about incredibly risky surgery, very painful incredibly risky surgery, very painful incredibly risky surgery, very painful surgery, and about 50% of the time it surgery, and about 50% of the time it surgery, and about 50% of the time it doesn't work at all. So, just the doesn't work at all. So, just the doesn't work at all. So, just the infection comes right back. And it it's infection comes right back. And it it's infection comes right back. And it it's risky because you've got an infection in risky because you've got an infection in risky because you've got an infection in this area, right? And then they're this area, right? And then they're this area, right? And then they're scraping and cutting in there and it scraping and cutting in there and it scraping and cutting in there and it gets in it can get into the bloodstream. gets in it can get into the bloodstream. gets in it can get into the bloodstream. And so there's there's a it's not a And so there's there's a it's not a And so there's there's a it's not a lowrisk thing. It's not it's that's why lowrisk thing. It's not it's that's why lowrisk thing. It's not it's that's why they don't do it for everybody. And it's they don't do it for everybody. And it's they don't do it for everybody. And it's a little scary for the patient, too. So a little scary for the patient, too. So a little scary for the patient, too. So So those obviously none of those options So those obviously none of those options So those obviously none of those options are good options. And so it's it's an are good options. And so it's it's an are good options. And so it's it's an interesting area for a company like ours interesting area for a company like ours interesting area for a company like ours to come in and try to solve that. That's to come in and try to solve that. That's to come in and try to solve that. That's called an unmet medical need where it's called an unmet medical need where it's called an unmet medical need where it's just not a good option. None of the just not a good option. None of the just not a good option. None of the options are good options. So a nasal options are good options. So a nasal options are good options. So a nasal spray with clar in it is what we're
56:00spray with clar in it is what we're spray with clar in it is what we're developing for right now. We've already developing for right now. We've already developing for right now. We've already had interactions with the FDA and those had interactions with the FDA and those had interactions with the FDA and those have been very positive for us. So we're have been very positive for us. So we're have been very positive for us. So we're continuing to interact with the FDA continuing to interact with the FDA continuing to interact with the FDA preparing for human trials. preparing for human trials. preparing for human trials. >> Excellent. Are there other ways you're >> Excellent. Are there other ways you're >> Excellent. Are there other ways you're developing the compound too? Because you developing the compound too? Because you developing the compound too? Because you said, you know, you have the nasal said, you know, you have the nasal said, you know, you have the nasal spray. Are there other methods of spray. Are there other methods of spray. Are there other methods of injecting or taking in the pill form or injecting or taking in the pill form or injecting or taking in the pill form or anything else? anything else? anything else? >> We're we're actually working with the >> We're we're actually working with the >> We're we're actually working with the military and and with some some other military and and with some some other military and and with some some other labs on formulating it as a pill for labs on formulating it as a pill for labs on formulating it as a pill for infections of the gastrointestinal infections of the gastrointestinal infections of the gastrointestinal system, right? Like we've all had system, right? Like we've all had system, right? Like we've all had diarrhea. So I wasn't allowed to say diarrhea. So I wasn't allowed to say diarrhea. So I wasn't allowed to say that uh word as a kid um unless I that uh word as a kid um unless I that uh word as a kid um unless I actually had it because I used it as actually had it because I used it as actually had it because I used it as like a curse word, right? Like diarrhea like a curse word, right? Like diarrhea like a curse word, right? Like diarrhea brains for my brother or something. But brains for my brother or something. But brains for my brother or something. But so every time I say it, I'm like, "Oh, so every time I say it, I'm like, "Oh, so every time I say it, I'm like, "Oh, my mom's going to hit me." But uh but my mom's going to hit me." But uh but my mom's going to hit me." But uh but when you've got that, right, when you've when you've got that, right, when you've when you've got that, right, when you've got the d-word, you definitely want to got the d-word, you definitely want to got the d-word, you definitely want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. It get rid of it as quickly as possible. It get rid of it as quickly as possible. It is not fun, right? And so having a pill is not fun, right? And so having a pill is not fun, right? And so having a pill that took care of that right away and that took care of that right away and that took care of that right away and didn't disrupt the microbiome. Right? didn't disrupt the microbiome. Right? didn't disrupt the microbiome. Right? Now what happens is you essentially have
57:00Now what happens is you essentially have Now what happens is you essentially have to go to the doctor and get antibiotics to go to the doctor and get antibiotics to go to the doctor and get antibiotics if you've got a really bad case of a if you've got a really bad case of a if you've got a really bad case of a gastrointestinal infection. And gastrointestinal infection. And gastrointestinal infection. And sometimes that works, sometimes it sometimes that works, sometimes it sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't, but every single time it doesn't, but every single time it doesn't, but every single time it destroys that commensal microbiome. And destroys that commensal microbiome. And destroys that commensal microbiome. And so so clar selective for the um to kill so so clar selective for the um to kill so so clar selective for the um to kill only the pathogens and not the commensal only the pathogens and not the commensal only the pathogens and not the commensal microbiome. We had non-human primate microbiome. We had non-human primate microbiome. We had non-human primate studies that were very successful and studies that were very successful and studies that were very successful and showed that we were very selective for showed that we were very selective for showed that we were very selective for the microbiome. We've also studied in in the microbiome. We've also studied in in the microbiome. We've also studied in in multiple other types of microbiomes and multiple other types of microbiomes and multiple other types of microbiomes and we show that we preserve it really well. we show that we preserve it really well. we show that we preserve it really well. So uh so I'm really excited about that. So uh so I'm really excited about that. So uh so I'm really excited about that. So I, you know, I travel a lot and I eat So I, you know, I travel a lot and I eat So I, you know, I travel a lot and I eat a lot of different foods in a lot of a lot of different foods in a lot of a lot of different foods in a lot of different countries and sometimes I get different countries and sometimes I get different countries and sometimes I get infected from it. So it'd be really infected from it. So it'd be really infected from it. So it'd be really great to have something that doesn't great to have something that doesn't great to have something that doesn't affect my commensal microbiome when I'm affect my commensal microbiome when I'm affect my commensal microbiome when I'm trying to get rid of the D-word. I'm trying to get rid of the D-word. I'm trying to get rid of the D-word. I'm really excited about that. And then also really excited about that. And then also really excited about that. And then also uh excited about potentially treating uh excited about potentially treating uh excited about potentially treating brain fungal infections with the same brain fungal infections with the same brain fungal infections with the same nasal spray. So right now none of the
58:00nasal spray. So right now none of the nasal spray. So right now none of the antifungal drugs that are out there are antifungal drugs that are out there are antifungal drugs that are out there are safe for the brain. uh they happen to be safe for the brain. uh they happen to be safe for the brain. uh they happen to be the same compounds that are used in the same compounds that are used in the same compounds that are used in chemotherapy. So imagine chemotherapy in chemotherapy. So imagine chemotherapy in chemotherapy. So imagine chemotherapy in your brain. That would be and taking an your brain. That would be and taking an your brain. That would be and taking an antifungal for the brain. It's it's not antifungal for the brain. It's it's not antifungal for the brain. It's it's not possible. It would destroy your brain. possible. It would destroy your brain. possible. It would destroy your brain. It would kill you. So if you get a brain It would kill you. So if you get a brain It would kill you. So if you get a brain fungal infection, you're just toast. fungal infection, you're just toast. fungal infection, you're just toast. Like they just there's nothing anyone Like they just there's nothing anyone Like they just there's nothing anyone can do for you. And that is a completely can do for you. And that is a completely can do for you. And that is a completely unmet medical need. And it's just unmet medical need. And it's just unmet medical need. And it's just absolutely lethal. So, so I'd love to to absolutely lethal. So, so I'd love to to absolutely lethal. So, so I'd love to to get in there and help with patients like get in there and help with patients like get in there and help with patients like that that have no hope. that that have no hope. that that have no hope. And then soldiers, you know, who are And then soldiers, you know, who are And then soldiers, you know, who are coming back from injured from battle, a coming back from injured from battle, a coming back from injured from battle, a lot of times they they get infections so lot of times they they get infections so lot of times they they get infections so bad that um they have to have their bad that um they have to have their bad that um they have to have their limbs amputated because of an explosion limbs amputated because of an explosion limbs amputated because of an explosion or something and the dirt and or something and the dirt and or something and the dirt and everything, the grime that was in the everything, the grime that was in the everything, the grime that was in the explosion, it gets pushed into the explosion, it gets pushed into the explosion, it gets pushed into the tissues of the limb. And so there's tissues of the limb. And so there's tissues of the limb. And so there's pathogens, there's like microbiota, pathogens, there's like microbiota, pathogens, there's like microbiota, right? There's bad bugs in there and
59:00right? There's bad bugs in there and right? There's bad bugs in there and it's pushed up into the meat of the and it's pushed up into the meat of the and it's pushed up into the meat of the and there you can't clean it. You can't there you can't clean it. You can't there you can't clean it. You can't clean that wound, right? And they have clean that wound, right? And they have clean that wound, right? And they have the worst time of it. They just really the worst time of it. They just really the worst time of it. They just really have a horrible I don't want to go into have a horrible I don't want to go into have a horrible I don't want to go into the detail of it, but basically it's the detail of it, but basically it's the detail of it, but basically it's it's multiple amputations and there's it's multiple amputations and there's it's multiple amputations and there's only a few of them. There's there's not only a few of them. There's there's not only a few of them. There's there's not very many of them that have that get it very many of them that have that get it very many of them that have that get it that bad. There's like 20, I think, in that bad. There's like 20, I think, in that bad. There's like 20, I think, in the United States right now. But man, I the United States right now. But man, I the United States right now. But man, I would love to do like some kind of would love to do like some kind of would love to do like some kind of fasttrack program for them because the fasttrack program for them because the fasttrack program for them because the horror that they're going through like horror that they're going through like horror that they're going through like multiple amputations, same limb, just multiple amputations, same limb, just multiple amputations, same limb, just just chopping chopping chopping and so just chopping chopping chopping and so just chopping chopping chopping and so it's just not a it's most of them die it's just not a it's most of them die it's just not a it's most of them die after being chopped multiple times. I after being chopped multiple times. I after being chopped multiple times. I would love there's no money in that for would love there's no money in that for would love there's no money in that for us. I mean, it would only be us. I mean, it would only be us. I mean, it would only be our expense and I would love to take our expense and I would love to take our expense and I would love to take care of that. It's just it's it's very care of that. It's just it's it's very care of that. It's just it's it's very choosing which thing to go after at any choosing which thing to go after at any choosing which thing to go after at any given time. Who's going to pay for it? given time. Who's going to pay for it? given time. Who's going to pay for it? You know, how are we going to develop You know, how are we going to develop You know, how are we going to develop the drug for it? How do we there's all the drug for it? How do we there's all the drug for it? How do we there's all of these safety precautions and of these safety precautions and of these safety precautions and procedures that it seems like everything
1:00procedures that it seems like everything procedures that it seems like everything is super bureaucratic despite the is super bureaucratic despite the is super bureaucratic despite the emergency of saving somebody's life, emergency of saving somebody's life, emergency of saving somebody's life, right? It's a so difficult to develop a right? It's a so difficult to develop a right? It's a so difficult to develop a drug, but our heart is in it. And um and drug, but our heart is in it. And um and drug, but our heart is in it. And um and I feel for those people that are I feel for those people that are I feel for those people that are suffering, I would love to help them. suffering, I would love to help them. suffering, I would love to help them. So when we started talking about Clar So when we started talking about Clar So when we started talking about Clar you told me that there were several you told me that there were several you told me that there were several stakeholders in the success of the stakeholders in the success of the stakeholders in the success of the compound such as different agencies and compound such as different agencies and compound such as different agencies and governments and I was curious why there governments and I was curious why there governments and I was curious why there are so many stakeholders in the success are so many stakeholders in the success are so many stakeholders in the success of the compound and how it's been so of the compound and how it's been so of the compound and how it's been so successful in gaining funding why people successful in gaining funding why people successful in gaining funding why people are so passionate about seeing this are so passionate about seeing this are so passionate about seeing this compound and its success. compound and its success. compound and its success. So from the beginning the department of So from the beginning the department of So from the beginning the department of energy, department of defense, many energy, department of defense, many energy, department of defense, many different universities, many different different universities, many different different universities, many different governments around the world have been governments around the world have been governments around the world have been deeply engaged with the development of deeply engaged with the development of deeply engaged with the development of the compound and that started from the the compound and that started from the the compound and that started from the very beginning uh back when Dr. Anelise very beginning uh back when Dr. Anelise very beginning uh back when Dr. Anelise Baron first invented it at Northwestern Baron first invented it at Northwestern Baron first invented it at Northwestern University in collaboration with the
1:01University in collaboration with the University in collaboration with the department of energy and NIH. uh and department of energy and NIH. uh and department of energy and NIH. uh and it's because there are so many concerned it's because there are so many concerned it's because there are so many concerned people when it when it comes to people when it when it comes to people when it when it comes to antibiotic resistance because it's I antibiotic resistance because it's I antibiotic resistance because it's I mean it's a no-brainer that it's a mean it's a no-brainer that it's a mean it's a no-brainer that it's a problem right so there was a scientist problem right so there was a scientist problem right so there was a scientist that was briefing the World Health that was briefing the World Health that was briefing the World Health Organization or some big organization I Organization or some big organization I Organization or some big organization I can't remember what it was and they said can't remember what it was and they said can't remember what it was and they said if antibiotic resistance is not solved if antibiotic resistance is not solved if antibiotic resistance is not solved by 2050 by 2050 by 2050 it will be a$undred trillion economic it will be a$undred trillion economic it will be a$undred trillion economic impact 100 trillion not a 100 billion, impact 100 trillion not a 100 billion, impact 100 trillion not a 100 billion, right? And when I saw that number, I was right? And when I saw that number, I was right? And when I saw that number, I was like, that can't be right. Like, and so like, that can't be right. Like, and so like, that can't be right. Like, and so then I went and researched the number then I went and researched the number then I went and researched the number and I was like, he's saying like and I was like, he's saying like and I was like, he's saying like catastrophic disease, basically like catastrophic disease, basically like catastrophic disease, basically like everyone's going to die. Our everyone's going to die. Our everyone's going to die. Our civilization will come crashing down civilization will come crashing down civilization will come crashing down because if you get an bacterial because if you get an bacterial because if you get an bacterial infection, there'll be nothing to solve infection, there'll be nothing to solve infection, there'll be nothing to solve it. And so just basically every third it. And so just basically every third it. And so just basically every third person is going to be dying, which means person is going to be dying, which means person is going to be dying, which means you can't have a very good civilization you can't have a very good civilization you can't have a very good civilization during that time, right? So I'm like, during that time, right? So I'm like, during that time, right? So I'm like, okay, I I get it. So that's, you know,
1:02okay, I I get it. So that's, you know, okay, I I get it. So that's, you know, it's 2025. That's 25 years from now. We it's 2025. That's 25 years from now. We it's 2025. That's 25 years from now. We better have a cure by then. That's what better have a cure by then. That's what better have a cure by then. That's what he's saying. So, it's a really big deal. he's saying. So, it's a really big deal. he's saying. So, it's a really big deal. I mean, if they talk about it in every I mean, if they talk about it in every I mean, if they talk about it in every every major world conference, antibiotic every major world conference, antibiotic every major world conference, antibiotic resistance comes up. It's a it's a big resistance comes up. It's a it's a big resistance comes up. It's a it's a big problem. It's it's on it's on the same problem. It's it's on it's on the same problem. It's it's on it's on the same level as like asteroid impacts and level as like asteroid impacts and level as like asteroid impacts and nuclear war and all of that. It's it's a nuclear war and all of that. It's it's a nuclear war and all of that. It's it's a big problem. So, so it's not difficult big problem. So, so it's not difficult big problem. So, so it's not difficult to get governments to support us, to get governments to support us, to get governments to support us, especially with the data that we have, especially with the data that we have, especially with the data that we have, the non-human primate data, many the non-human primate data, many the non-human primate data, many different animals tested in even human different animals tested in even human different animals tested in even human tissues that we've tested in the the tissues that we've tested in the the tissues that we've tested in the the microbiome. We show that it's microbiome. We show that it's microbiome. We show that it's anti-inflammatory. It's um it's not anti-inflammatory. It's um it's not anti-inflammatory. It's um it's not toxic and it also doesn't require toxic and it also doesn't require toxic and it also doesn't require refrigeration, which is a big deal in refrigeration, which is a big deal in refrigeration, which is a big deal in many countries, right? So, India, many countries, right? So, India, many countries, right? So, India, Pakistan, Africa, Middle East, Pakistan, Africa, Middle East, Pakistan, Africa, Middle East, refrigeration, it costs a lot of money refrigeration, it costs a lot of money refrigeration, it costs a lot of money and a lot of places just simply don't and a lot of places just simply don't and a lot of places just simply don't have the electrical connections in order have the electrical connections in order have the electrical connections in order to have a refrigerator. And so, that to have a refrigerator. And so, that to have a refrigerator. And so, that means you have extreme health means you have extreme health means you have extreme health disparities in places where they don't disparities in places where they don't disparities in places where they don't have refrigeration.
1:03have refrigeration. have refrigeration. So, uh it doesn't require refrigeration. So, uh it doesn't require refrigeration. So, uh it doesn't require refrigeration. So, that's a big deal, right? So, so a So, that's a big deal, right? So, so a So, that's a big deal, right? So, so a lot of countries like India are very lot of countries like India are very lot of countries like India are very interested in our compounds because they interested in our compounds because they interested in our compounds because they don't require refrigeration. And so don't require refrigeration. And so don't require refrigeration. And so we're we're working with the government we're we're working with the government we're we're working with the government of India uh on on some pretty big you of India uh on on some pretty big you of India uh on on some pretty big you know really big programs like maybe you know really big programs like maybe you know really big programs like maybe you know in the hundreds of millions to to know in the hundreds of millions to to know in the hundreds of millions to to develop for some of the rare and develop for some of the rare and develop for some of the rare and neglected tropical diseases that they neglected tropical diseases that they neglected tropical diseases that they have over there. >> So when you're developing a new compound >> So when you're developing a new compound and trying to get FDA approval it's a and trying to get FDA approval it's a and trying to get FDA approval it's a long arduous process. um what are some long arduous process. um what are some long arduous process. um what are some of the challenges that you face while of the challenges that you face while of the challenges that you face while developing your compound and getting developing your compound and getting developing your compound and getting funding and what are some of the biggest funding and what are some of the biggest funding and what are some of the biggest challenges that you face today? challenges that you face today? challenges that you face today? So I would say the let's let's talk So I would say the let's let's talk So I would say the let's let's talk about like what are the key things that about like what are the key things that about like what are the key things that you need to look at for a potential you need to look at for a potential you need to look at for a potential drug, right? You need to say like is drug, right? You need to say like is drug, right? You need to say like is there a market for it? Do people need there a market for it? Do people need there a market for it? Do people need it, right? Is it is there is there an it, right? Is it is there is there an it, right? Is it is there is there an unmet medical need or is it just a
1:04unmet medical need or is it just a unmet medical need or is it just a medical need that's already met by medical need that's already met by medical need that's already met by something? There's something pretty good something? There's something pretty good something? There's something pretty good out there, right? So the best thing to out there, right? So the best thing to out there, right? So the best thing to go after is a completely unmet medical go after is a completely unmet medical go after is a completely unmet medical need because the FDA gives you priority. need because the FDA gives you priority. need because the FDA gives you priority. there's people that are suffering that there's people that are suffering that there's people that are suffering that you know have no hope and so it's it's you know have no hope and so it's it's you know have no hope and so it's it's best to go after those those are those best to go after those those are those best to go after those those are those are where you create the most value are where you create the most value are where you create the most value right so that's that would be the first right so that's that would be the first right so that's that would be the first thing is where is the completely unmet thing is where is the completely unmet thing is where is the completely unmet medical need and can you make something medical need and can you make something medical need and can you make something for that then can you make it is it for that then can you make it is it for that then can you make it is it something that can be feasibly produced something that can be feasibly produced something that can be feasibly produced in a factory or like somehow can you in a factory or like somehow can you in a factory or like somehow can you source it somehow can you scale it up to source it somehow can you scale it up to source it somehow can you scale it up to large amounts that you would be able to large amounts that you would be able to large amounts that you would be able to serve it to people and supply it to serve it to people and supply it to serve it to people and supply it to people and And uh and then the sort of people and And uh and then the sort of people and And uh and then the sort of classical things that everyone thinks classical things that everyone thinks classical things that everyone thinks about is is it effective and is it safe, about is is it effective and is it safe, about is is it effective and is it safe, right? So safe and effective. Those two right? So safe and effective. Those two right? So safe and effective. Those two things. So the safe and effective piece things. So the safe and effective piece things. So the safe and effective piece is it's a little bit easier to there's is it's a little bit easier to there's is it's a little bit easier to there's there's tests for those things. there's tests for those things. there's tests for those things. Scientists and labs and stuff. You just Scientists and labs and stuff. You just Scientists and labs and stuff. You just have to have the money to find out if have to have the money to find out if have to have the money to find out if it's safe and effective. But I would say
1:05it's safe and effective. But I would say it's safe and effective. But I would say the the key thing to focus on would be the the key thing to focus on would be the the key thing to focus on would be is it a completely unmet medical need is it a completely unmet medical need is it a completely unmet medical need and how many people need it. Those are and how many people need it. Those are and how many people need it. Those are those are kind of the key uh questions those are kind of the key uh questions those are kind of the key uh questions to answer. If it's a very few number of to answer. If it's a very few number of to answer. If it's a very few number of people, then generally it only makes people, then generally it only makes people, then generally it only makes sense if it's a really bad thing, right? sense if it's a really bad thing, right? sense if it's a really bad thing, right? Like, you know, if there's six people in Like, you know, if there's six people in Like, you know, if there's six people in the world and they all have this the world and they all have this the world and they all have this undescribable tiny little itch on the undescribable tiny little itch on the undescribable tiny little itch on the tip of their nose, right? Like, okay, tip of their nose, right? Like, okay, tip of their nose, right? Like, okay, well, I mean, they're going to be okay. well, I mean, they're going to be okay. well, I mean, they're going to be okay. Uh but, you know, if they're going Uh but, you know, if they're going Uh but, you know, if they're going blind, then that's a really big problem. blind, then that's a really big problem. blind, then that's a really big problem. You should probably, you know, look into You should probably, you know, look into You should probably, you know, look into that. So like looking at it from that. So like looking at it from that. So like looking at it from different angles and determining whether different angles and determining whether different angles and determining whether or not you should invest some time and or not you should invest some time and or not you should invest some time and energy into it is you know key from that energy into it is you know key from that energy into it is you know key from that point forward. If you determine that it point forward. If you determine that it point forward. If you determine that it is something that is investable, it's is something that is investable, it's is something that is investable, it's something that you really should work on something that you really should work on something that you really should work on then like is not there will probably be then like is not there will probably be then like is not there will probably be other people that agree with you and so other people that agree with you and so other people that agree with you and so those are investors. And so you just those are investors. And so you just those are investors. And so you just have to go find the people that are have to go find the people that are have to go find the people that are like-minded. The more you know the like-minded. The more you know the like-minded. The more you know the higher the problem pain, right? the more higher the problem pain, right? the more higher the problem pain, right? the more pain there is around this problem, the
1:06pain there is around this problem, the pain there is around this problem, the more likely that you're going to find more likely that you're going to find more likely that you're going to find people that understand that pain and are people that understand that pain and are people that understand that pain and are willing to invest in it. So, that's that willing to invest in it. So, that's that willing to invest in it. So, that's that would be kind of the the the blocking would be kind of the the the blocking would be kind of the the the blocking and tackling of of biotechnology and and and tackling of of biotechnology and and and tackling of of biotechnology and and what you should develop versus what you what you should develop versus what you what you should develop versus what you shouldn't. shouldn't. shouldn't. >> Awesome.
